Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Aug 27, 2009 6:51 pm We have a new home with pop up plugs in the bathroom and a toilet handbasin. They stick easily and take a lot of trying to open again. Our plumber doesn't seem to know any more about them than we do. Any suggestions to get them to work easily? Re: Pop up plugs 2Aug 27, 2009 7:42 pm does the pop up bit wind in? Just loosen the wind out & all will be perfect! That's what mine do - you unwind them to take them out to clean, etc. HTH Re: Pop up plugs 4Sep 02, 2009 12:13 pm Thanks for that. If only I could get the !@#$#@! thing up so I could unscrew it. Any suggestions short of dismantling the waste system? Thanks Frank Re: Pop up plugs 6Sep 03, 2009 11:18 am That didi no work either. I did however manage to unscrew the plug and the underlying mechanism with pliers so I could use a plastic universal plug. It works but it looks ugly. I suspect the mechanism is bunged up with soap and dirt so I'll try cleaning it and using CRC. What do others think? Cheers Frank Re: Pop up plugs 7Jun 13, 2010 12:34 pm Ok, dilemma. The pop up plugs in both my baths are pitting and I am have great difficulty getting them to pop back up. I am thinking it's because they hardly get used. All the other ones that get used daily are fine.....anyone! 1 is free to air and the other 2 are for cable TV all of them completely useless in 2024 1 2257 |
