Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Aug 27, 2009 6:57 am Hi everyone, I am sure I saw this discussed months ago but can't remember verdict and can't find thread. Did our tile selections yesterday - yay!!! We are having 300mm tiles everywhere - wall and floor. Tile lady (person ) said 300mm full tile on skirting for toilet, powder room and laundry would be better, would protect wall more. Am not sure now, will that look too tall and odd? Does anyone have pics of their skirting this high - we will be having skirting same colour as floor (beigy)? Thanks everyone. Re: Skirting tiles - How tall? 2Aug 27, 2009 9:59 am Could it have been this thread? http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22477&p=295756&hilit=tile+skirting#p295756 I have only ever seen skirts about 15cm high in powder rooms. Hopefully someone can post a pic with a 30cm skirting. Re: Skirting tiles - How tall? 4Aug 27, 2009 2:08 pm - Thanks - have given in to gut feeling will get 150x300 (1/2 tile ) as skirting. Still if any pics may help someone else. Re: Skirting tiles - How tall? 5Aug 27, 2009 5:28 pm My contract states minimum 100mm for toilet. My tiler layed a full 200x200mm floor tile on the wall, it seems silly and labour intensive to cut a floor tile in half. I will post a picture in the next few days, as I currently dont have one of the toilet. Re: Skirting tiles - How tall? 6Aug 28, 2009 12:43 am I have seen 200 and 300 high tile skirting's... they both look nice, it all depends on what look you are going for in your house. My house, I have full height tiling in toilets and bathrooms, but thats the look I wanted and not every one likes that. The best thing is take a sample tile home and put it up against the wall, judge for yourself. I will see if I can get you a photo of the 300high, I am pretty sure my friend has this in her house. Re: Skirting tiles - How tall? 7Aug 28, 2009 9:10 pm We went with 300x300 tiles, and a full tile for the skirting in the toilet and laundry.
