Not sure if it's standard practise, but the doors to my powder room, toilet and bathroom are 720mm. All other single doors are 820mm. Even the laundry, which surpised me, I thought that would be 720 as well. Re: How wide are your bathroom doors? 3Aug 11, 2009 2:48 pm Quite often they make toilet doors in particular 720 wide. Both our toilets are 720 yet the bathroom is 820 Built 36sq Plantation "Retreat" on 4460m2 at Spring Mountain, Qld In Living and landscaping.. >>> ... http://retreatspring.blogspot.com Re: How wide are your bathroom doors? 4Aug 11, 2009 2:53 pm Powder - 720 Bathroom - 820 Toilet - 720 Ensuite - 520f and 720 Toilet in ensuite - 720 Master Bed - 720f and 720 Minor Beds - 820 Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... Check with your builder if you like to change it, don't see any issue with that, only problem is, as usual: they will charge you a lot for tiny changes like this..... Re: How wide are your bathroom doors? 7Aug 11, 2009 7:45 pm Not sure what is standard, just checked my duplex plans and they are all 820 (apart from front door), including all bathrooms, ensuite and the power room and laundry! DA approved Waiting on a few more Builder's quotes. Re: How wide are your bathroom doors? 8Aug 11, 2009 8:14 pm Our WIR , ensuite, bathroom and toilet doors are all 720, doors to all other rooms are 820. Not sure if this is standard or not but was in our contract without us specifying so. It works well, and as, buildingourfirsthouse said, highly unlikely you would want to take any large furniture etc thru the doors - except perhaps a very large WIR, not one the size of ours. It would make no difference when the bathroom comes off a hallway but for the ensuite and WIR (2 separate doors in our house) you do gain wall space by haveing smaller doors; handy if you want to put a table, bookshelf etc on the wall. Re: How wide are your bathroom doors? 9Aug 11, 2009 8:31 pm IN WA 820 is pretty much a standard door width. we had our main bedroom, front entry and ensuite doors done extra wide. from memory I think they might be 900 or 890's. the minor bedrooms and laundry are 820's and I think the toilet and main bathroom might be slightly narrower. Originally our pantry cupboard door was 520 or something silly. we had it made bigger.
