Re: Newbie on cutting tiles..please help 3Aug 05, 2009 8:24 am diamond tipped grinder is the only way to create intricate cuts, you can buy a grinder for well under $ 50 (cheap but will do what you want). If you don't have much experience with power tool, go easy this is one tool that will give the in-experienced a shorter finger or two........ so be careful. Depending on your tiles, you can use a glass cutter and nibblers to create a freehand radius/shaped cut but i bet you mess a few tiles up this way. The pro's use a grinder, that says it all..............good luck anyway.
