Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jul 22, 2009 3:28 pm A question for you all on toilets I was just wondering about toilets. . . in the bathroom showrooms they show the toilets but don't show the plumbing that goes with them (obviously, as they'd look ugly). If I buy a wall-faced toilet, will all the ugly plumbing be hid behind the toilet, or will I still see it? Re: Wall-faced toilets and ugly plumbing 2Jul 22, 2009 8:33 pm If you are talking about the mini cistern tap and flexi that sends the water to the cistern then you have a couple of choices. Most wall faced suites are back inlet, which means the cistern tap comes in behind the cistern un near the lid and is hidden. Your plumbing needs to be set up to allow for this. There are some that are bottom entry, and can be done 2 ways. The cistern tap is visible with flexi going thru the side of the pan or the flexi going to the bottom of the cistern. Or there are some that have the cistern tap in behind the pan, which I usually steer my customers away from because that requires you to pull the whole toilet out from the wall to turn of the water if you need to. Re: Wall-faced toilets and ugly plumbing 3Aug 02, 2009 11:07 pm Possumchops, are you familiar with the Kohler Opiaz (full back to wall)?? The water inlet valve comes in at the top of the cistern inside, would that be where you turn off the water if need be? Does the plumber need to put a stop valve there, inside the cistern? Ours are not installed yet. Re: Wall-faced toilets and ugly plumbing 4Aug 03, 2009 6:24 am Opiaz is back inlet, so yes the cistern tap is situated in the top of the cistern. You need to have your plumbing set up in the wall to come out at the right place before installation. Your plumber will fit a mini cistern tap in there. Nice suite too!
