Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jun 30, 2009 10:27 pm Our bathroom is currently 2.8mx2.6m. Problem is, the bath looks tiny - 1.3meter allowance by the looks of it I hate tiny baths. Shower is 1.3x1.3, Im assuming this is a decent size since its close to the size of the bath Ive done a search on bath sizes but to no avail, so Im wondering if someone could tell some sizes of larger baths. Or alternatively (and preferably!), a corner spa? Im trying to reconfigure the layout... Re: Bath/Spa sizes 2Jun 30, 2009 10:37 pm Bam our bath will be 1.7m long and sit in a hob that is 2.4m long (across the end of the room). Our shower will be 900 x 1200. The bathroom itself is 2.4m x 3.49m. We paid to go to a longer bath, not sure what the standard size is but 1.3m seems very short. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Then it would still fit in the space... I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. I just realised our toilet is 2.2x1.5m, that just seems way too big. If I could take some room from here and give it to the bathroom it would be great but then my linen interferes.... And yes, I realise this makes no sense without a picture Im going to have to take a pic on my phone and upload it tomorrow. There has to be a way... We are having the shower in the spa because of space issues but don't care - want that spa! (also have to fit a toilet...lots of white and big mirrors I think) Re: Bath/Spa sizes 10Jul 01, 2009 9:28 am I think the standard bath is 1575 long. Then you can get 1675, thats what we have in our new house, the next size is 1800 which I was thinking about. in this one you can lie back and have your legs straight out you you are covered in water from the shoulders down The only thing is you cant rest your feet on the bottom of the bath so its easy to keep sliding and go under Thats why we went for the 1575. In the corner baths 1300x1300 is the smallest and 1500x1500 is the bigger one. I havnt seen baths smaller than 1575 it must be small! Know where your going in life............... you may already be there Re: Bath/Spa sizes 11Jul 01, 2009 9:48 am 1300 is tiny, you would be better off not using the space. I had a 1500 bath and basically it covered my legs. Don't forget a bath has a slope and a lip generally so a 1300 bath is probably 1200 bath cut out and 1/3 of that is going to be sloped up. Re: Bath/Spa sizes 12Jul 01, 2009 9:54 am 1300 is very small for a bath. Ours is about 1700 and it's just long enough for me (I'm about 5'9). It's also quite deep compared to our old bath - it's a Medina from Caroma. Not sure what your current layout is, but I've had a basic play around with your room size and you could quite comfortably fit a longer bath in. Here's a couple of different layouts. With a 2.8 x 2.6 room, there's a fair bit you can do with it (depending on restrictions such as windows / doors etc) Oh... and I just realised you mentioned the toilet is seperate, so just ignore the toilet bit in these pics Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Bath/Spa sizes 13Jul 01, 2009 10:32 am You can get your bath in just about any size up to about 1800mm (but I'm sure there'd be bigger!). Ours will be 1730mm, but wider and deeper than usual. We wanted 1790mm but compromised and saved $300odd!! If you can't create the space to get a bath 1600 and up in there, I'd be thinking about a 1500x1500 corner spa. ICK So glad the building is over, never again. Loooove our house, but still not quite sure it was worth all of the stress they put us through! Re: Bath/Spa sizes 14Jul 01, 2009 2:43 pm Thankyou everyone, Im going to aim for an 1800 bath as the extra long one, and if we go smaller to the 1675 than it wont matter esg, thanks so much for those layouts I must have been thinking about it too hard because I couldnt come up with anything Do you think the shower/vanity/bath will look a little weird if its all so close together?? I have finally have my net back so I can post a picture of the bathroom layout Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Custom European Cabinets - Melbourne Kitchen Specialist PM for business details as website currently being updated! Re: Bath/Spa sizes 18Jul 02, 2009 9:33 am Bam - try anything before resorting to a corner bath. I find them an absolute nightmare to clean and also to wash babies / small children in. This is one thing that I was absolutely resolute on not having. We are lucky enough to have a massive main ensuite so are instead having a freestanding slap-bang in the centre of the room - which I can't wait for ease of cleaning. But I would choose a longer ordinary bath and reconfigure everything else over getting a corner bath. Can't wait to see the rest of your plans Some things are worth waiting for. Very nice use of space. The powder room was good too, the only question would be around the toilet being the first thing you see when you enter the room - but for the best use of space you probably don't have much choice.
