Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jun 28, 2009 9:08 pm i want to get a moulded shower (the full shower system) because I HATE cleaning tiles and grout, they are so much easier to clean. I never see them, except the moulded bases, or in caravans or whatever. Does anyone have one? what do you think? Re: moulded showers? anyone got one? are they good? 3Jun 29, 2009 1:34 pm Get the 3 piece style, they are acrylic. Easy to install, make sure the bead of sealant is run along the tiling lip BEHIND the acrylic wall so you don't get unsightly mould. And yes, great for no grout to clean, are easy to maintain and if you ever think they look a little dull you can polish them up with car polish (same with any acrylic bath, vanity tops, etc). The one piece moulded are fibreglass, so if the gel coat on top is worn off you get mould growing in the resin and they can get a bit ugly looking. If you can, have a look at different brands, especially the framing of the screens. Some I have noticed have sharper edges and odd joins, others are more seamless. I think the Artemis ones are a good finish. A little dearer but better quality than others. Possumchops Now the proud owner of 3.7acres of Serenity. Colour selection completed! Soon to go to council. I would imagine if you are redoing a bathroom you would also have to consider whether you would be able to physically get one into the bathroom as the other fixtures might make it impossible (as Terrian said!). When we redid our bathroom in our own house I went with a Posh three piece shower - the walls are one section, the floor pan another and the glass is the third piece. It was really easy to install and looks fantastic. It is pretty easy to clean - the only mould to keep on top of is along the seam between the walls and floor. (I'll take note of Possumchops advice on how to avoid this issue if we ever do it again ) This is the current bathroom with a european laundry.
