Anyone know what plumbers charge for this if I were to buy the toilet and he does the installation? Thats akin to asking how long is a piece of string. You need to provide much more information. Is it slab construction? Most baths flow through the floorwaste, (or in older places through an outside gully) so more than likely the bath drainage is not suitable to take a WC. And even if it doesnt pass through a gully and it goes direct to sewer, its in the wrong place. Standard WC set out distances are around 140mm from the finished wall to the center of the outlet pipe and Im betting your bathwaste outlet isnt. More than likely the drainage needs to be changed. If its a slab construction, youre talking big bucks. If its a floor thats sits on piers, and underneath the house is easily accessable, than not so much, but still a decent amount of work. Besides the drainage, you need to provide water for the WC and cap off the bath taps. After you pull the bath out the floor and walls behind the bath arent tiled, (unless the bath is one that sits on four feet and isnt built in) you would need the area to be tiles. The tiles wont match. What youre talking about is close to a complete bathroom reno, so youd be better off biteing the bullet and gutting the bathroom and renovating it. Re: Adding Toilet to Bathroom 3Jun 25, 2009 7:21 pm Another option to consider if the house is on a slab... If the toilet is against an external wall then you can install a P trap toilet - and rather than having to dig down into the slab, the pipe will go out through the wall. Once outside it will need to go underground and to the sewer, so still a fair bit of work but at least you're not digging up the slab. Hey, I am wanting to add a second toilet to my house, bit we have limited room. There is a hallway/entry that is never used, so was thinking this could be an option.
