Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jun 24, 2009 1:43 pm When we had colour selection I choose to lay the tiles vertically. But after looking at the display homes again on the weekend they are all laid horizontally. So now I don't know.

It's just personal preference though. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Lay them vertically with 300x300 floortiles. It's just personal preference though. Same... I think they look good laid vertically in a tall, narrow space - just my opinion, though. Solidarity, not solidity.......The Lexicon of Life Re: 300 x 600 wall tiles - Horizontal or Vertical? 5Jun 24, 2009 3:15 pm i went vertical, but the rest of the bathroom design kinda went with it. I think for a rectangle this big i would always go verticle, smaller ones it would depend on the application. Re: 300 x 600 wall tiles - Horizontal or Vertical? 7Jun 24, 2009 9:56 pm We chose vertical, so I think that by the responses, it's truly a personal preference. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: 300 x 600 wall tiles - Horizontal or Vertical? 8Aug 03, 2009 1:28 am Man, the more I look at other bathrooms the more I think mine looks plain. Are these pix from a display, Im guessing yes. Ive tried to do my own thing but it has been too bloody hard. My floor tiles are 400 x 400 and they have a 200x 300 the same colour but the really nice girl at the shop said dont risk it as they are never the same colour (due to batch & thinkness). Would you put 400 x 400 on a shower wall ? Getting sick of the whole tile thing. King Willy........... “It's just as unpleasant to get more than you bargain for as to get less” George Bernard Shaw. Re: 300 x 600 wall tiles - Horizontal or Vertical? 9Aug 03, 2009 1:04 pm I am having 300x 600 on the walls and 300 x 300 on the floor. They are the same tile, just different sizes. I think even if the colour is just a little bit off you shouldn't be able to notice to much, because one is on the floor the other on the wall so the way the light hits them will be different. Re: 300 x 600 wall tiles - Horizontal or Vertical? 10Aug 03, 2009 3:11 pm we had ours laid vertically and i love it it looks fantastic and it makes the ceiling look higher. im really glad we did that as it really works for us and making the room look bigger was a great plus!!! If you have 2.4 ceilings I would go with Vertical. Contacted tile place today, floor & wall are made in diffrent batches. There will be a small colour variation. I played with them a bit and it is suprising how much different they look in different light, you would say they are not the same colour at all. Re: 300 x 600 wall tiles - Horizontal or Vertical? 12Aug 03, 2009 9:31 pm We are having our 300 x 600 bathroom wall tiles laid horizontally. The main reasons being - 1) we do not have any feature tiles. 2) the main bathroom tiles are to be 2000mm high in the shower and 1200mm to the rest of the walls. My personal opinion - having the 300 x 600 tiles laid vertically to 1200mm, they do not look finished. Ceiling height tiles I feel you could have them laid either way. If you had feature tiles - the feature tiles would help to determine the way you had the tiles laid.
