Building 'The Kingston' (with 'Boston' elevation) through Blueprint Homes in Hocking, Perth **PCI complete 06.02.10** My Thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=17607 Re: Bathroom size 3Jun 29, 2009 12:21 pm My bathroom is 2.7 X 2.7 and it's perfect for me. It has walk in shower, spa bath, vanity and toilet. I had such a tiny one before this one feels huge! Depends on how many in family tho'. I don't have small children, just one grown son and its perfect. If you can get a bigger one, GO FOR IT!! You will be glad you did. It even has the same spa bath. Our first bathroom is 1.9 * 3.6 and has an oval spa, separate shower, vanity and toilet and is big enough. This is a second bathroom (and third toilet) We have 4 boys but 2 are grown up and gone so only 2 teenagers left. We have a space that is 4.1m * 2.1m in which we want to put a bathroom and spare bed. So we can have a 2* 2 bathroom and space for a spare bed which goes to Double bed size, or a bigger bathroom and space for a single sized daybed. Decisions The 2*2 works on paper but I wondered if anyone had one that small if if it works in 'real life' Re: Bathroom size 5Jun 29, 2009 3:17 pm I'm doing an extention to the house soon and I am planning a 2x2m bathroom - toilet, basin and shower only. So I am interested too in some good ideas. Re: Bathroom size 6Jun 29, 2009 4:28 pm All of our minor ensuites are 2m x 2m. They all have a corner shower (900x900), a 900mm vanity and a toilet. For a small ensuite they are fine - although I wouldn't want any smaller. (This are only for our children so are perfect for each of them) Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Bathroom size 8Jun 29, 2009 6:53 pm My current ensuite is 1.8 m x 1.8 m and comfortable houses a shower (900x900, with corner cutout), vanity (~900x450) and toilet. Don't need it to be any bigger. Demolition August 2009, Construction Started September 2009, Completed December 2010 Re: Bathroom size 9Jun 29, 2009 7:51 pm my bathroom is 1.85 x 2.15 and it is TINY. it is an old house. all it has at the moment is a shower and (i guess you'd call it) a vanity and i've stuffed a linen press type cupboard in the corner. It is horrid. we will be renovating and i just can't figure how i'd get it to work with a shower and a decent sized vanity. I'd love another storage / towel cupboard, but i just don't think it will fit. if you just have a pedestal type basin with no storage, you'd probably be ok, but i need storage, i have a family of 4. my toilet is separate, so that is my saving grace. Re: Bathroom size 10Jun 29, 2009 8:45 pm Hi, our rental ensuite is 1.8m by 2m. It has a shower (with corner cutoff), loo and vanity. It is fine. If you want a space to luxuriate in, it's probably too small.... but if you just want to get clean - no probs! buzz Re: Bathroom size 11Jun 30, 2009 11:04 am tjilpi Is 2m * 2m too small for a bathroom which will have a toilet, vanity and shower? I prefer bigger, but I lived with an even smaller ensuite for 22 years (about 1.8 x 1.6) ....and survived without any mental trauma. It will depend on how much space you have available and what size fittings you plan to have in it. If you want a double shower, double vanity and extra storage, you'll be out of luck. If you only want something basic, it'll be fine. You may want to consider a space-saving cavity sliding door, so that you have room for towel rails and/or shelving. Window placement needs to be carefully thought out too when space is tight - or perhaps go for a skylight and work in ventilation in some other way. Re: Bathroom size 12Jun 30, 2009 8:24 pm Our ensuite is 1.8 x 2.4, seems quite decent size to me, hinged door, corner shower, toilet, good length vanity. I have seen many smaller ones in houses here, although I havent measured them but I would estimate at 1.8 x 1.8 as they seem the width of ours but not as long, tend to have a small corner vanity. Re: Bathroom size 13Jul 01, 2009 9:52 am i like sliding doors but they appear not to be the most popular option. But they give you a bit more of an option. As said you are not going to get the double shower, vanity and toilet happening but you could fit singles of each item neatly with out feeling cramped. A big mirror and lots of even light would make it feel a lot better. Re: Bathroom size 14Jul 03, 2009 10:57 pm I think a 2x2m bathroom is a little bit on the small side but can look very nice with the right styling. And if it only has vanity, shower and toilet its fine. Presuming it is not an ensuite, because an ensuite of that size in my oppinion is ok, but the bigger the better! BUT in saying that, my main bathroom I grew up in was 4.1x4.4 and it was massive, too big. DA approved Waiting on a few more Builder's quotes. Dear Members I have to decide the Facade column size. My custom builder standard is 350mm with rendering, but i asked for 470mm plus stone or tiles and yet to get… 0 7508 All sorted guys. Just needed to buy a blade with the correct bush. Dunno how to delete this post, can't find any help file. Cheers. 1 3667 Current door width is approx 2700, looking to have double doors fitted 820-820. What size does the frame need to be before door jamb? Thanks 0 3550 |
