Re: How high is your vanity? 3Jun 19, 2009 12:47 am I originally had my vanities at 800 mm, but at the last moment changed them to 850 mm high. I think this is a good middle-of-the-road height. Our house thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=18335 Re: How high is your vanity? 5Jun 19, 2009 8:39 am its your house maske the height what you want. but i guess if you considering selling one day you may need to compromise. in my design of my dream home, we are not planning on moving (yes i know anything can happen) so with myself being over 6 foot tall and my partner not far behind, we will make our vanities much higher than usual. Damn took me ages to find this signature thingy! Re: How high is your vanity? 6Jun 19, 2009 9:45 am I'm only short (5'4"4) ... my current vanity is 900 ... having 850 in the new ensuite (but I would have been happy enough with 900). Given kitchen benches are usually 900 ... I can't quite work out why you need a much lower vanity ... unless children are required to use it ... I'm assuming in my main bathroom (no decisions on that one) I'll go a lower vanity, whereas in the ensuite it will only be for adults! Re: How high is your vanity? 7Jun 19, 2009 9:52 am My Vanity is 900mm from the top of the basin. Which is an above counter. so prob only about 700mm for the actual bench. But Im happy with that im only 160cm tall!!!!! Living in Caloundra Thread****** Lovin my house all finished!!! I did my kitchen benches at 1000mm and everyone comments how good the height is Re: How high is your vanity? 9Jun 20, 2009 1:44 am Dukekamaya Í was going to make mine 850mm-900mm, not sure yet. I did my kitchen benches at 1000mm and everyone comments how good the height is I am def doing my kitchen at 1m! And with the vanity's I will go 900mm. I dont like the display homes I have been in, nearly all of the benches are so low. Im 176cm so not that tall. DA approved Waiting on a few more Builder's quotes. Re: How high is your vanity? 11Jun 20, 2009 10:50 am Helyn My kitchen and bathroom benches are standard height and I would not want them any higher. Basins are not above counter. I am 5ft 3 - whatever that is in metric I personally think that the extra 100mm makes everything look nicer and luxurious, but even if it didn't, i'd still haveto go with the higher bench tops and vanity. I find some of the bathrooms (not so much the kitchens) I go into in the display homes are so gorgeous but look sooo small coz of the toilets and vanity. Is it just me?? I think so lol DA approved Waiting on a few more Builder's quotes. Re: How high is your vanity? 12Jun 20, 2009 10:53 am You may be right, it might look nicer, but no good if you cant reach things I am presuming higher kitchen benches would also raise the overhead cupboards as you would still have the same gap between bench and cupboard - I have enough trouble reaching things on top shelf of overheads now Thanks mate. Yeah good points! Leaning towards Option 3 to get a bit extra space in the cabinets but not going too crazy high (and expensive).
