We had a water saving one before that - we got it from a large hardware chain years ago - so we're used to them.
On the subject of water saving - Caroma are also releasing a toilet that has a hand basin on top of the cistern. So the water you wash your hands with is used to flush the toilet. It comes out in mid-August apparently. We're looking at putting one in the house we're building which will rely on tank water. Matt Re: "AAA" Showerheads - Is there any that are better o 4May 04, 2007 12:01 pm That sounds like the perfect toilet for our upstairs bathroom - toilet is in a separate room to the rest of the bathroom - lots of switching on and off lights between rooms when using the loo - this sounds great!
I did some more searching - it will be called the Caroma Profile Toilet Suite. Re: "AAA" Showerheads - Is there any that are better o 5May 04, 2007 12:23 pm Other implications would be the need for a smaller room
ie. A powder room could be much smaller now. Matt Re: "AAA" Showerheads - Is there any that are better o 6May 04, 2007 2:31 pm There's also a conversion kit for existing toilets: http://www.ozaquasaver.com/ shower heads 7May 15, 2007 10:06 pm Hi everyone
Another hugely cheaper and ecologically sensitive alternative to replacing your entire shower head is to stick in a flow restrictor such as a water wizz. It's very little hassle (just take off the shower head, bung in the restrictor and reattach the head). You should be able to buy one from any good plumbing shop. You can also put flow restrictors in your other taps. ![]() Cheers e. Re: "AAA" Showerheads - Is there any that are better o 8May 31, 2008 8:22 pm I'll be getting water saving shower heads when I move into my new place, but I worry I'll be spending more time under the shower because the flow on these is SO slow you hardly get wet at all!!
I find in certains hotels I've stayed at over the last few years, the shower heads range from the ones that shoot out water at such a fast speed your skin feels like it's being pricked with 50 million needles to the ones that when you put your hand directly underneath the middle of the shower head, it remains completely dry because there're no holes for water in the middle, only around the outside. I want a good, normal but water efficient shower head, dammit! How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! You're surely right there! We've recently moved into a rental with a new bathroom & of course the obligatory water saving showerhead. It's a shocker. ! Water comes our fo holes that are around the perimeter only. That's all. No other holes. Aaaggghh. It takes so long to rinse hair that you're actually in there longer than usual. It's so painfully slow ! It's so cold........there's not enough water flow to cover your body. Honestly !!!! ![]() I've never been one to stand for ages in the shower - just do what's required & out in a jiffy ! Now it takes me twice as long ! It comes standard with one of those articulated arms....tip....if you get a big shower head don't get the articulated arm as the shower head is too heavy (when filled with water) for the arm no matter how hard you tighten it.....and it gets a case of the droops.... When my dad was here recently I asked him what brand it was because it was a water saver and actually good.
His answer.... he took the restricter valve out of it, so it wasn't actually a water saver after all ![]() So I'm also searching for a decent shower head to replace the trickle flow ones I currently have and I'll be watching to see if anyone can name one. (Dad did offer to take the restricters out of my showerheads but I'd rather try to find one that will deliver a good shower and save water.) Received keys to my new home on 16/5/08 ![]() Re: "AAA" Showerheads - Is there any that are better o 14Jun 05, 2008 2:15 pm we have a water saving shower head, you can choose from three settings on it, soak, normal and massage. Soak is heaps of the openings on which is good for generally getting watered down but lacks the presure for hair and stuff, normal is just the inner ring which is still decent but allot of power and massage is well massage. Its also on a hose so you can move it around and the wall attachment is a sliding rail.
I don't think it was more than $500 and well worth it, given we can't really use the spa it makes having a shower allot easier. Re: "AAA" Showerheads - Is there any that are better o 15Jun 08, 2008 2:31 am According to Choice Magazine, the Flexispray Bermuda II has decent pressure and was one of their top rating water-efficient showerheads:

Re: "AAA" Showerheads - Is there any that are better o 16Jun 08, 2008 11:49 am Nice post Solo.
I've used the Bermuda and it works fine - a little bit patchy - but it's not that bad. I'll go along with that but my pet hate about the damn things is that even when you're in a rural area with tank water you still have to install the stupid things. Our roof will collect around 3,600 litres of water for every 1mm of rain and we've got 90,000 litres of storage capacity so we'll have all the water we need (only 2 of us) but I still have to use AAA shower heads. Stupid damn inflexible regulations! Re: "AAA" Showerheads - Is there any that are better o 18Jun 10, 2008 11:32 am Oops, I meant 360 litres/per mm not 3,600. Re: "AAA" Showerheads - Is there any that are better o 19Jun 10, 2008 8:44 pm We've got an old model showerhead that we've taken from place to place with us. It's called Great Vibrations. I think it's by Interbath, but I'm not sure. We got it from BBC (yes, that long ago) and it cost $20. They probably still have them. One of the best showers you'll ever have - I have long curly hair, and lots of showerheads don't cut it for shampooing. I'd buy it again any day.

I have just moved house, and have the newer style efficient shower heads. I stand there in the shower for twice as long, and feel very cold as the water just doesn't cover enough area. Are the highest flow shower heads restricted to 9l/min? I'd rather have less efficient shower head, AND spend less time in the shower.
