Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 May 24, 2009 9:10 pm We have just purchased a home that is approx 6 years old. The walls are to be repainted in "Hog Bristle" 1/2 strength, 1/4 strength gloss for skirts, doors, archs etc. Carpet is a medium beige colour. Problem is.....Terracotta coloured tiles flow through the whole house, which aren't my dream choice of tile but it would prove too costly for us to replace them as the house is approx 35 squares. The house was built at the time when it was deemed trendy to put mediteranian blue tiles on the floors in the bathrooms, laundry and toilets. These tiles have to go but I am having trouble finding a suitable tile that will flow on from the Terracotta. The wall tiles in the bathrooms are white, bath and vanity are white, shower screen frame is white, window coverings are cedar venetians. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Re: Bathroom Floor Tile Colour Suggestions ... anyone? 2May 24, 2009 9:42 pm Terracotta isn't so bad (Mediterranean blue though....yikes!). You can't go wrong if you stick to a neutral - not a stark white, but perhaps a cream or beige. Even chocolate or charcoal might work, depending on the exact shade of terracotta and what accents or accessories you have around the area where the two meet. I'm no expert, but if you have one colour that flows through the entire house and you make sure that it goes with each room, you shouldn't end up with a "bitty" look. That doesn't mean you have to have the exact same wall colour throughout - it may be the main wall colour in living rooms, but carry through as an accent in bathrooms (skirtings, tiles or splashbacks?), even in a half strength in some areas.... If you're really not sure, it would be worth paying an interior decorator for some advice. Michelle......? Possibly both depending on the sizing. Idea of working from the centre is that you dont have a 20mm thin tile at one end and a 400mm at the other end. A quick search on… 3 8417 I have an investment property and tenants moved out recently.
