We have double vanities in the place that we are renting now.
One of them just collects dust and dirt. Not used at all.
Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry Re: Double vanities 22May 24, 2009 10:00 pm I 'will' have double basins in the ensuite of our new home. They were standard with the house, and I personally can't wait! Our old house had one tiny bathroom with one basin, and was a pain in the butt. When we'd go out at night we'd fight over brushing teeth and shaving. This way no arguments! The extra cleaning won't bother me, and the extra long bench means more storage space underneath! It's too small and a pain in the a** trying to get ready at the same time, doing make-up, shaving, hairstyling, teeth etc. Hence the double basin and larger shower in our new ensuite was a must!! Can't wait! Re: Double vanities 25May 24, 2009 11:02 pm We never use the bathroom at the same time, so there is no need for double vanity, i rather use the space to install a heater tower rail or put on more storage Blog - http://clageonewhouse.blogspot.com/ Building Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=10886&hilit=milan I am in, with my husband and my beautiful bunny Re: Double vanities 28May 25, 2009 4:54 pm hmmmmm ok, I am going to throw a spanner into the works. What does everyone think of one basin, two taps?? I was at Reece and Bourne plumbing on the weekend and saw they had a few of these units on dispaly... That sounds weird . Did you like the look of them????? Geez people must be so impatient and dont want to wait for the sink to fill up. Hey presto Two taps will do it faster!!! What does everyone think of one basin, two taps?? I was at Reece and Bourne plumbing on the weekend and saw they had a few of these units on dispaly... I would have thought that if 1 person is at the sink and the other person wants to use the second mixer at the same sink the first person would have to move aside, unless it is a large sink. 2 sinks with a single mixer in between would probably be more usable. I agree that both would look weird. Re: Double vanities 32May 25, 2009 9:15 pm Thanks to everyone who participated in the poll. The results are pretty close. Now I don't think I'm going to be some sort of weirdo living in the last century if I only have one basin. Re: Double vanities 35May 30, 2009 9:17 pm It's a lovely idea and looks nice. We are not having them, but that is purely a budget choice. Not to mention that I don't really need a fourth sink to clean thanks. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Double vanities 36Jun 01, 2009 8:13 am We are getting 2 vanities because it was standard with the plan As for using it dont think so - we are never in there at the same time either plus two basins = more cleaning! Re: Double vanities 37Jun 06, 2009 9:41 pm We are having double vanities in ensuite and in kids bathroom - that's one basin per person. Everyone will be responsible for cleaning their own mess. Can't wait to see who it is that makes our current one (shared by all) so disgusting. 2011 Home Sweet Home Handover 03 September 2010 PCI 27August 2010 Plumber 20August 2010 Electrician 19August 2010 Painting 04 August 2010 Cabinets 13Jul2010 Lockup 23June Frame 20April slab 1Mar10 Re: Double vanities 39Jun 06, 2009 11:20 pm We're having double vanities in our ensuite also, tired of having to brush my teeth in the mirror with the missus trying to blow dry her hair in the same mirror Blog : http://ournewhaven.blogspot.com/ (Modified Newhaven - Homestead Homes) Status : DA - Dec 09. In our old house the vanity was under the window, mirror on a cabinet at the side, I dont think this ever mattered for teeth cleaning Just curious I’m in a similar position except I’m after sliding 3 stacking doors. I am on a second-story apartment of which the balcony would not adequately fit any bi-fold or… 5 16147 Current door width is approx 2700, looking to have double doors fitted 820-820.
