Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 May 12, 2009 7:03 am Hi All,
We are building over new home. Our builder has suggest this below design for en suite. However, I'm little bit disagree on the design. Then thought to have a suggestion from you guys... please help? I'm thinking to swap toilet and shower because to have the easy access directly to shower from the bath tub.... If i do so, then it will be difficult to get the Toilet air out of the bathroom Please comment..... Re: Please suggest for ensuite design? 2May 12, 2009 7:09 am What are the dimensions of the room? Do you specifically want (or need) the wall in the middle of the room (where the vanity is). If you swap the toilet & shower, have a think about whether you'll have an enclosed shower - if so, it will restrict access to one end of the bath. As for the toilet smells, just put an extractor fan above the toilet. Re: Please suggest for ensuite design? 3May 12, 2009 7:11 am why do you need easy access from the shower to the bath tub? I think I like it the way it is. The toilet is away from the entrance to the room so there is a bit of privacy. Re: Please suggest for ensuite design? 4May 12, 2009 7:40 am I don't like the design. I'd rather have the four items (shower, bath, vanity and toilet) around the edges of the room. This way you get more space. I also hate sliding doors - only use them if you are very tight for space, which you are not. Re: Please suggest for ensuite design? 8May 12, 2009 7:24 pm I'd refer to a basin and just a sink with taps - exposed plumbing underneath. And a vanity is a sink on top of a cabinet (ie in your design it shows 2 sinks on top of what looks like a cabinet, so that would be a 'double vanity') I've done a rough rearrangement of the design which opens up the space much more. The line in front of the toilet is only there because my editing is bad - though I've left it in, because if you wanted some privacy for the toilet, then maybe a half height wall there would be nice?
