We now have a chance to get the tiler to laid the tiles all the way to the cornices / ceiling and need to decide by tomorrow. What is your view ? To leave it or laid it all the way to the top ? Cheers Re: Tiling in shower - URGENT Advice 2Apr 24, 2009 9:01 pm Are the tiles on the other walls also going to the same height? If so then do all four walls to the ceiling if you can. If it is only in the shower then I wouldn't. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Tiling in shower - URGENT Advice 3Apr 24, 2009 9:05 pm kyton Are the tiles on the other walls also going to the same height? If so then do all four walls to the ceiling if you can. If it is only in the shower then I wouldn't. There will only be tiles to both walls in the shower Cheers Re: Tiling in shower - URGENT Advice 5Apr 24, 2009 9:57 pm Bear in mind that cornices need to be packed out if you're tiling all the way up to them. Otherwise you won't see the step where the tiles stop & the cornice starts. We have ours tiled not all the way to the top, but nearly, just in the shower area and I think it looks much nicer "Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions." — Elizabeth Gilbert Living in our new house. I don't like the floor to ceiling tile look as it appears to clinical! Electrical Engineer... Don't hold that against me... And keen owner builder... Mainly the building part!! Re: Tiling in shower - URGENT Advice 10Apr 25, 2009 8:15 am Yep would be good to see one in the "flesh"so to speak. I have always thought that if it was only in the shower area then go to pretty much the height of the shower screen (this is what we have always had previously and what the kids are having in their ensuites - whereas in our ensuite we are doing every wall to 2m) Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Tiling in shower - URGENT Advice 11Apr 25, 2009 11:49 am Anyone with a photo ? I need to get back to the tiler by today as he will be finished by today as the fitout electrician / plumber will be in on Monday/Tuesday Cheers Re: Tiling in shower - URGENT Advice 12Apr 25, 2009 2:42 pm here you go (hoping you don't all decide NOT to tile higher after seeing my pics ) ensuite Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ bathroom Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ "Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions." — Elizabeth Gilbert Living in our new house. Re: Tiling in shower - URGENT Advice 13Apr 25, 2009 9:14 pm Thanks Donuts - it looks good I'm going to go and see the tiler on Monday to ask if he can go to atleast 2m, currently it is about 1.8m and DH is that tall, we didn't even notice it until we went to the house and the top of his head was level with the waterproofing stuff My karma ran over your dogma Render your bathroom walls, two opinions versus the one, makes you wonder. 3 6067 thanks Chippy, i hope they have applied sealer but i am doubt to be honest, so i am gonna do this job after handover. 8 16306 I am building in claymore NSW and this is shown in the building envelope plan. … 0 10040 |
