It doesn't look to 'puny' ? I thought it may have looked a bit skinny But maybe I have been staring at them for too long! Thanks everyone Tiler still hasn't shown so I have a while to make the decision, not as urgent as first thought My karma ran over your dogma Re: Tile drama - updated pics - need URGENT opinions on rows!!;) 24Apr 27, 2009 11:32 am I like 3 too 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' Nice choice bel. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Tile drama - updated pics - need URGENT opinions on rows!!;) 27Apr 27, 2009 12:21 pm I vote for 3. there's something about odd numbers for plants and feature things that I prefer and 5 rows seems too big. But if you think 3 is too narrow for the scale of the room go 4. 5 rows looks too big compared with the size of the other tile. Re: Tile drama - updated pics - need URGENT opinions on rows!!;) 29Apr 27, 2009 12:30 pm I think 3 looks too teeny. I actually quite like 5, but it depends on the context overal I guess. So my vote is for 4. I love the new feature tile by the way! I saw that exact one and a blue themed one at Henley's colour studio and was seriously thinking of getting it, but then I went for a similar colour theme of glass tiles, but long stripes instead of small squares. Re: Tile drama - updated pics - need URGENT opinions on rows!!;) 30Apr 27, 2009 1:20 pm Now they are really beautiful tiles, Bel - much more "you" than the other ones, I think! I think I like 3 for where you're having it, Bel - not a huge area. Our glass mosaics are only 4 wide in the showers - a much bigger area, and it's planty for there! Glad you can change it!!! Solidarity, not solidity.......The Lexicon of Life Re: Tile drama - updated pics - need URGENT opinions on rows!!;) 31Apr 27, 2009 2:03 pm Guys you are confusing me now On the note I left the tiler this morning I said 4 tiles - I thought it looked like a good in between size - not too big not too small....but he still hasn't shown up today so I still have time to change. Hoping to talking to him when I'm there and get his input... I see the majority say 3 - the lady at the tile shop said they usually do 3 for feature strips....my first thought was it looked too thin though...but now when I look at it I don't mind it.... Because my bathrooms are going to be very light and the wall tiles are all white I thought the bigger size might be a bit more of a feature without being overpowering... Hmm will wait for DH to get home and get his input My karma ran over your dogma Re: Tile drama - updated pics - need URGENT opinions on rows!!;) 32Apr 27, 2009 3:04 pm I might as well add mine whilst I'm here. I would go 3 but I'm basing it on what I am seeing in the photos. 4 looks like it becomes closer to the size of the white tile. In between the two tiles I think it looks better if it is smaller than them in height, rather than a similar height. I think though they are such nice feature tiles that they will look good whether you go with 3 or 4. I'm different. I'd go 5. I like the feature to look substantial. And you seem to get more of a feel for the variation within the tiles with the 5. We have the same wall tiles too which makes it great to see both Anyway I spoke with DH and would you believe it for the first time in our ENTIRE build we have agreed on something - 4 rows of tiles!! So even though I am a bit iffy between 3 and 4, the fact that DH said 4 and it was my initial thought too - then I take it as a sign. So 4 it is! Thanks for all your opinions guys - will update with pics when it is done My karma ran over your dogma Re: Tile drama - updated pics - need URGENT opinions on rows!!;) 40Apr 27, 2009 7:58 pm haywgl Thanks for all your input guys - thanks especially to Bobcat for the pics - it really helped.
