Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Apr 10, 2007 1:05 pm Hi all,
We have been given the option of a DUX SUNPRO Gas 305 with our builder. My wife really wanted the option of being able to control the temperature with controllers in the wet area's of the house. On speaking with our builder this morning we were told tha continuous hot water systems could not be solar as well. This would mean we have to have a water tank to keep the 5 star rating. I dont have an issue with the water tank as long as i get to choose where it goes and what it looks like. We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) and we have 2 showers in the morning and a bath for the kids each night. Is the 170Litre storage big enough? Is there a better option? I think the 170L is probably going to be a bit tight. We are the same size family and in our rental I think we have a 170L tank. Most of the time it is ok but we do run out from time to time. We had the same idea and the same response from our builder. Rather than argue until I am blue in the face, I just went with the tank and we will investigate the contineous option later when the house is built. I know this is a bit wasteful but I am sure it can be done - we just need a smart system that can detect incomming water tempreature and adjust the heat accordingly. I think we need to talk to a specialist. You would think this would be a standard recommendation to everyone. Let me know if you have any sucess. The time to heat is purely a function of the distance between the hws and the faucet.
