Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Apr 22, 2009 12:26 pm Hi all, I'm trying to finalise my colour selection for the bathroom and ensuite, and would appreciate any comments. I want the same colours in each room. Here are my colour ideas: Floors, shower recess, bath hob: Opal polished porcelain 600mm x 600mm Shower wall tiles, bath wall tiles: White high-gloss stacked horizontally 400mm x 100mm Vanity & vanity top: Laminex Alaskan Feature glass mosaic strip in shower: Multicolour Jupiter 25 x 25 I'm wondering... Zuccala have told me that I can't have the mirror meet the vanity edge and that I must have tiles in that splashback area. Should I go with the same white tiles from the shower wall (white high-gloss stacked) or use the feature glass mosaic tiles in that spot too? Or does anyone think this entire colour scheme is wrong? Any comments would be great Cheers, Paul Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: My bathroom colour scheme & splashback question 2Apr 22, 2009 12:40 pm Nice selections! I'm not a very green/brown person, but I think i've seen similar mosaic colored tiles in someone elses bathroom on this forum and it looked very nice! I would probably put the moasaic tiles under the mirror, we also couldnt have the full length mirror to the vanity.. even though its in all the display homes. We used the same tiles on the bath hob for under the mirror. We origionally were going to use the shower wall tiles, but changed to something a bit more interesting. They are just the 300x600 tiles. I think either tile would look good.. maybe if you want a more seamless look, go for the white tiles, if you want to make a feature.. go the mosaic? Good luck! Can't wait to see the final look. =) Building with PD - Regent 23 Cascades on Clyde Estate HomeOne Building Thread - PCI Completed - 28th August. Handover - 11th September. Re: My bathroom colour scheme & splashback question 3Apr 22, 2009 12:47 pm Howdy, In the photo, some of those glass mosaic tiles do look brown. But they are actually a graphite and light grey colour. My regular camera is broken so I'm using my dreadful mobile phone camera to take shots. Thanks for the comments. I do think I want a feature below the mirror, might bring a bit more 'colour' to the room - even if it is only a very slight shade of green. Wowsers... these 'upgrade' costs keep piling up. Aaaargh, I wish they could just extend the mirror to meet the vanity top I'm renovating - building a small extension at the back of the late Edwardian house. This is the first stage. Second stage of the renovation will be to replace roof on… 0 1085 Render your bathroom walls, two opinions versus the one, makes you wonder. 3 6062 |
