Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Apr 22, 2009 11:15 am I am trying to workout our ensuite configuration. Please see attached image. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We want to have a double shower, double vanity, toilet and wall space for towel rails. The original plan has the shower dimensions at 1800 x 700 which is a bit narrow I think. Should we have the end of the shower lined up with the window edge or does it not matter? The second plan would make the shower dimensions 1500 x 900 but would this make it to small the other way? Just not sure how the door would be open. Maybe the best solution would be a single sliding door in the middle. We are also thinking probably a semi frameless shower. Maybe another solution would be to swap the vanity and shower around in the new idea plan and then make it 1800 x 900. Please give me your thoughts. Re: Ensuite configuration help 3Apr 22, 2009 5:43 pm Our bathroom is exactly the same as the second picture you have shown. If you look at PD's website, it's in the Regent 23 floorplan. We don't have a door to the ensuite, but we have a sliding door to the walk in robe. So we can close off the robe (therefore closing off the ensuite) if that makes sense? Sorry about the image size but if you double click on it, it will open in a larger size Re: Ensuite configuration help 5Apr 22, 2009 9:03 pm Strange, I used to always see pics in the posts - now it's just an IMG link. When I click on that it takes me to the very small picture... but I remove the .th from the URL and tadaa, I can see the big picture A couple of points... In the second layout, you could probably afford for the shower to be a bit longer. You'd currenty have a space of about 900mm for the toilet. Given most toilets are under 400mm wide, you could probably get away with a 700mm space - but it would feel a little tight. I quite like the first layout with the shower next to the vanity. This way you have a good 600mm space at the end of the shower where you can put more storage, or a towel rack or whatever you like. There is also the appearance of more space in the first layout - rather than it being a long skinny area (a la layout 2), it's more of a square and would be easier to have 2 people in the bathroom at the same time (I assume since you want a double shower that 2 people will be using the bathroom at the same time.). As for the issue with the shower being too narrow - could you compromise and steal 100mm from the vanity? I think 700mm wide is too narrow for a shower, particularly a double shower. Thanks for the suggestion. The space between shower and sinks was too tight. I agree about the toilet location. So I have tried two other options: The lower one is… 3 6128 the step up is 30mm and wanting it to be flat . how much does the concrete have to be lowered .we plan on removing bath and lenghten shower and adding seat. the old bath… 0 11829 |
