Re: Round Vs Rectangular basins 23May 21, 2009 10:07 am thread probably outdated but that square round one looks awesome. I have noticed that alot of basins seem very shallow these days. I am getting paranoid that I will turn the tap on too hard and splash all water all over myself. choices... choices... choices Villina with Trend facade Sydney Re: Round Vs Rectangular basins 25May 21, 2009 2:13 pm Beebob I have noticed that alot of basins seem very shallow these days. I am getting paranoid that I will turn the tap on too hard and splash all water all over myself. I saw one on a website which was proudly described as being only 1cm deep. I was wondering if the laws of physics somehow don't apply to the fashionable. I like stuff that works and is easy to clean. The enjoyment of something that is a lot of trouble can wear off rather fast. Oh and btw you can really splash yourself, it's not just something you see on sitcoms, and it's not just with extremely shallow basins but I suspect also if the angle of the water and the angle of the basin aren't compatible. I found that out when visiting an art gallery. Re: Round Vs Rectangular basins 26Sep 21, 2009 9:30 pm Beebob thread probably outdated but that square round one looks awesome. I voted for square but can only only assume they are harder to clean. I am the one who cleans them so be it. In my ensuite we have 2 square semi recessed ones and in the kids bathroom we have one round one shaped like a bowl upright as it goes with the freeestanding bath better so actually have one of each to come. http://www.harribeka.blogspot.com Re: Round Vs Rectangular basins 29Sep 22, 2009 11:30 am I ordered round and got square so I guess I like both. Re: Round Vs Rectangular basins 30Sep 22, 2009 4:47 pm ICK I don't mind either, just don't give me an oval one! Personally we are going with a stepped vessel round basin, it was DP's idea, didn't really bother me so long as we didn't choose the oval Haha, we are getting oval basins, but love them.. Re: Round Vs Rectangular basins 31Sep 22, 2009 5:52 pm we liked sqaure but went round as we had a friend say cleaning is an issue. I wonder if filling a basin to shave if the sqaure ones require more water to get the same depth as round? Re: Round Vs Rectangular basins 32Sep 22, 2009 5:54 pm Hels We have chosen one that is square on the outside and round inside. good compromise Hels! I haven't even considered it yet, but I'm not that fussed - just want the basin to match the bath, so if I go for rounded bath, i'll get a round basin. Easy done. Caz & Co ALL MOVED IN!! Now comes all the hard work-decorating.... Very nice without the price tag. (sorry no pics). Initially I liked the oval above counter ones. Ideally I would prefer an undermount one however this can only be done with stone bench tops. |
