Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Apr 20, 2009 4:31 pm We have absolutely no tiles in our bathroom and want to at least tile our shower area. We are getting really tired of stupid, outlandish quotes and are now wondering if we should attempt it ourselves. The area is literally only the length of the bathtub and the height of the shower (no more than 2m long x 1.5 high). The only real issue I am scared about is doing around the taps etc as I have absoultely no idea what I'm doing? The bathtub also needs to be replaced. It's a delightful salmon/pink at the moment. Can anyone suggest how much the tiling should cost or how much someone would charge to tile and update our tub / shower heads etc? Or, are we better off just having a go ourselves? We really need to do something soon as it looks absolutely dreadful and we are scared that the water will damage the interior walls etc if not sealed properly soon. Thanks. Re: How hard to DIY tile a small shower area or approx cost? 2Apr 20, 2009 5:42 pm Tiling walls is easy if you're patient. I would do it to save money. Floor tiles are trickier due to the difficulty in the fall.
