Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Apr 20, 2009 12:18 am Hi guys I've always thought that clear glass shower screens were the way to go and are a lot more modern. Today, a friend of mine told me that he would enver go clear glass again. He thinks is a pain too keep clean. He said that stained were more expensive but he now wishes he got them. What do you think? Stained or clear? Re: Shower screens: Clear vs stained glass 2Apr 20, 2009 12:11 pm I chose clear glass because I have a feature tile wall that continues into the shower recess and I didn't want to hide it. The frosted glass looks nice, is very expensive and I think it's totally a personal taste thing My clear frameless door looks unbotrusive and very modern and I only have one to clean so am sure it won't kill me. I have seen quite a few clear glass shower doors on H1 with different coloured frames, like gold and silver is still popular so you don't have to go frameless, anything goes apparently Re: Shower screens: Clear vs stained glass 3Apr 20, 2009 6:47 pm I am not overly fond of cleaning but I dont find the clear glass hard to clean - use a squeegie thing (I think that's what they're called - you know, like you wash windows with) once every few days, only takes a few minutes. Clear glass frames also make the room seem bigger whereas frosted glass closes in the space. Re: Shower screens: Clear vs stained glass 4Apr 20, 2009 7:36 pm For those of you who use squeegies on their shower screens, where do you keep them ?? - Hanging in the shower, or - put away somewhere ?? And are you satisfied that using them prevents the glass from clouding over time?
