Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Apr 18, 2009 7:43 pm Can anyone tell me why you dont see these any more? My shower door opens on to the main bathroom entre door. I feel it could be a problem, a sliding door would fix it, can you still get them off the shelf and do they look OK? Any info would be helpfull. Re: Sliding Shower Doors ???? 2Apr 18, 2009 7:51 pm KW, Sliding shower doors were popular in the 70s and 80s (?). My folks have them. My experience with them . .. they don't work well (to say the least) ... jamming, rocking 'n' rolling, etc. Seems that everyone else have had the same experience, and today, most doors are hinged. I know what you mean with the sliding part. They may be making a come back in the 2000s. I may start a new bathroom trend lol. They may make them a bit better now, hey. So you think I would down grade the home by putting in 80s style doors? I may get used to them, thats the fraimless type.
