Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jun 28, 2009 7:53 pm Hi - would anyone in their right mind put glossy floor tiles (Ceramic) in a bathroom/ensuite or is it too slippery? It's just that it looks so good with our ensuite wall tile (same tile but larger size) - Marfil creme - and makes the place look really sophisticated. For the shower hob, we would go with a matt creme colour to try and match. Would love to hear your thoughts..thanks Building the 22sq Ashton Re: Glossy floor tiles in ensuite? 2Jun 28, 2009 8:51 pm We had porcelain tiles in our last house and they were great (apart from when i had the broken ankle, bit ******* trying to do my quick hop over the shower thingo to get in). But no they aren't slipery as long as you don't get water all over the floor, i guess that depends on the ppl in your house and if they manage to get the whole floor wet just to have a shower. i'm going to get them again in my current house when we reno our bathroom. i asked at the tile store, and they seem to think they aren't a problem with slippery-ness, as long as you use a bathmat. Re: Glossy floor tiles in ensuite? 3Jun 28, 2009 9:10 pm The sales guys at the tile shop told me as long as you step straight onto your mat from the shower then it's no problem. I have a toddler so I'm not willing to take that risk so I changed my floor tile Re: Glossy floor tiles in ensuite? 4Jun 28, 2009 10:47 pm We're getting 300x300 polished porcelain in our new bathrooms. The tile place said that so long as the tiles aren't any bigger than that, the grout lines will act as grip. The lady even got me to skate around on the sample floor in barefeet with pantyhose on and it wasn't slippery at all! I agree about the toilet location. So I have tried two other options: The lower one is… 3 6242 the step up is 30mm and wanting it to be flat . how much does the concrete have to be lowered .we plan on removing bath and lenghten shower and adding seat. the old bath… 0 11964 |
