Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry Re: Thermostatic shower mixers 25Apr 07, 2009 5:16 pm Sorry, but I've got a 10yo that can get the right water temperature in a few seconds...... with seperate hot and cold water taps....... this thread is bloody hilarious! vvs mand marbo ok, if you are one of the chosen ones, you get the shower temp right just like that. No, one doesn't have to be Jewish to get even water temperatures. Oh, my great grandmother was Jewish.... maybe that's why DS can do it! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Thermostatic shower mixers 27Apr 09, 2009 8:25 pm If you want to conserve hot water then insulate your pipes (or at least the first few metres coming from the HWS). You could also invest in a Chili Pepper hot water recirculator: http://www.chilipepperapp.com/howit.htm It recirculates the dead space cold water in the pipe until it reaches correct temperature. It also cuts out if it reaches 40 degrees. Re: Thermostatic shower mixers 28Apr 09, 2009 8:28 pm vvs mand Quote: ok, if you are one of the chosen ones, you get the shower temp right just like that. Sorry now back to the normal programming..... Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Thermostatic shower mixers 29Apr 11, 2009 11:17 am I know its all about "How choip can you moike it, moite", so why should I spend 399$ to save a few cents in water? but I am not holding it against you, most of you did not have french lessons: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/environment http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_En ... nch_origin what would you expect of a culture that did not come up with an own word for that. And luckily, patience paid off, government now sends someone to replace your light bulbs for free and provides free roof installation. and for the ones that not even have flick mixers but rather 1920s style Quote: seperate hot and cold water taps edit: thanks Dyno, there is also this ecoverter thing http://www.advecotech.com.au Re: Thermostatic shower mixers 30Apr 11, 2009 5:50 pm but I am not holding it against you, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anal_retentive Re: Thermostatic shower mixers 31Apr 16, 2009 9:54 pm Its a nice luxury. I've used these alot at poshy hotels and its nice to just walk in and turn the flow rate and not worry about getting temperatures (after you preset - ones I've used had temperture numbers)... Another item I like was shower jets that massage you - was kinda weird having water from 6 different directions. Makes a huge mess Re: Thermostatic shower mixers 32Jun 29, 2009 8:56 pm I've moved to an apartment at the top of a 1930s block in Sydney which has water pressure, temperature and pressure that fluctuates all the time and I'm looking for a thermostatic mixer so I can have a shower (for once) that doesn't require fiddling with the taps every 30 seconds. The rest of the world has discovered shower mixers years ago - so why then do Australians still try to use separate taps? I've had an Aqualisa thermostatic mixer installed in my flat in the UK fo 20 years without any problems. I'll look into different shower heads and ask the plumber about some engineering and see what he says. Thanks 2 9564 Hi All, about to commence a bathroom renovation and need some advice on subfloor works. Current subfloor is hardwood T&G floorboards on 90x45 joists, but intention is to… 0 5843 Ask yourself if the insurance company will be aware of the Reno. 4 7371 |
