Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Mar 24, 2009 10:36 pm What does everyone think of my bathroom... honesty appreciated. It hasnt turned out as we had hoped and we are thinking of changing the bath face and shower feature tiles. Do you think it will look ok once complete, or should we replace the tiles with something a bit darker, .. or something? I only have pics of the tiles with plastic on them from the painters. I hope you can see enough. It will probably look good once it's all together! It's very neutral, but it all goes together, and you can dress it up with accessories later. The front of the bath looks like it goes with the shower wall, so I don't think it looks out of place. I think it's fine. "Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions." — Elizabeth Gilbert Living in our new house. Currently scaping the land. Re: bathroom tiles.. not what I had hoped.. ideas please.. 5Mar 25, 2009 11:03 am Yes I know its very neutral.. so is our whole house I wanted to go a chocolate colour on the floor but DH was against it.. he has 'mission brown' stuck in his head and refused to go near it.. I did manage to convince him to have dark wood look laminate on the laundy and main bathroom cupboards I am so stressed about the ensuite.. its the only thing I am unsure about.. Love the rest of the house Thanks for your opinions guys.. I will see how it looks once I jazz it up with mats, towels, candles etc.. -Sha Re: bathroom tiles.. not what I had hoped.. ideas please.. 6Mar 25, 2009 11:10 am Tonight...just for you sha....I will post photos of my ensuite, we have chocky brown floors and a feature wall of same colour with metal strips. Your ensuite is neutral and easy on the eye, not offensive at all , can you really be bothered ripping all that out Re: bathroom tiles.. not what I had hoped.. ideas please.. 7Mar 25, 2009 11:16 am I don’t see a problem with it. Once you get some nice colourful towels and mats in there it will look really good! It looks nice, like everyone has said, you can dress it up and make it look all prrrrrrty. Suh, I am also doing a metal strip as a subtle feature... is there anything we are doing different?! haha ICK So glad the building is over, never again. Loooove our house, but still not quite sure it was worth all of the stress they put us through! Re: bathroom tiles.. not what I had hoped.. ideas please.. 9Mar 25, 2009 11:49 am I like them, but what were you hoping for that makes them not quite right? I think it looks fine. We also went for 'neutral' colours, makes it easier to add whatever colour accessories that take your fancy. Re: bathroom tiles.. not what I had hoped.. ideas please.. 13Mar 25, 2009 1:41 pm I think it looks fine too - neutral and subtle colours that look good together. You can put a picture on the wall which will make it more eye catching and break up the blandness. Re: bathroom tiles.. not what I had hoped.. ideas please.. 14Mar 25, 2009 1:57 pm Thanks everyone... I feel a lot better about it.. We are in the final stage now and I think I am at the stage where I am starting to doubt.. Suh, I cant wait to see your bathroom.. even if I will be very envious! Just one more question... the shower is opposite the vanity and the toilet is opposite the corner bath (so you can get an idea of the room). Do you think I should paint the opposite wall (near toilet) as a feature wall, to jazz it up a little? If yes, any idea on colour? -Sha Re: bathroom tiles.. not what I had hoped.. ideas please.. 15Mar 25, 2009 2:20 pm sha Just one more question... the shower is opposite the vanity and the toilet is opposite the corner bath (so you can get an idea of the room).
