Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Mar 01, 2009 12:35 pm Hi
Ordered lovely tiles from National Tiles last weekend - they're the Stratos Wet Cement (coffee colour), and the Stratos Bianco (beige). I'm absolutely certain the Wet Cement Tile is the same one used in the Urban Mocha (style) Porter Davis home: http://www.porterdavis.com.au/#styles Attached is the proposed layout of our bathroom. This is what we originally thought we'd do with the tiles in our bathroom: Wall 1: Bianco Walls 2, 3, 4: Wet Cement Floor/Bath Tiling: Wet Cement But, now I'm not so sure. Now, I'm thinking: Walls 1, 2, 4: Bianco Wall 3: Wet Cement Floor/Bath Tiling: Wet Cement Latter option means that one wall of the shower will be Bianco, and the other wall will be Wet Cement. Does this matter? Which one would look better - Option 1 or Option 2? Keeping in mind that we'll be having a chocolate vanity. She has it laid as one row matt, one row polished, alternating, and it looks just gorgeous! I was just reading your posts and wondered how you went. I've been thinking about putting a different colour tile on one wall that matches the floor tile....but i'm having trouble finding photos for inspiration! would love to see pics of yours if it's finished. Re: Tile colours for bathroom walls 5Mar 15, 2009 6:45 am Hi buddy,
A couple of days ago, I told the husband that I just wasn't happy with the overly chocolate bathroom. I just felt that a chocolate vanity would just get lost amongst all the brown of the walls, and that 3 brown walls and brown floor would make our bathroom look small and dark. If you have a huge area (and lots of light) for a bathroom, then all-chocolate walls can really look stunning, but, alas, my bathroom is not huge. So, I did a switch. This is what I've done: Walls 1, 2 and 4 - Bianco (with latte/chocolate grouting) Wall 3 - Wet Cement (including bath tiling) Floor - Bianco It's not in yet, but I'll be sure to keep you posted. I feel waaaay happier with this switch. And, it means that my chocolate vanity will stand out somewhat. This is what I'm trying to achieve: http://www.reece.com.au/great/australian/bathrooms/35 (9th row, 3rd & 4th pics). By the way, I found some links for you to look at: http://www.bubblesbathrooms.com.au (go to Gallery, Some of our Completed Projects, pg8) http://www.interiorsbydarrenjames.com.a ... n-finishes (3rd row, pics 3 & 4) HTH Re: Tile colours for bathroom walls 6Mar 15, 2009 8:23 am thanks so much for the links.
I didn't realise that wet cement was a chocolatie colour. Yeah i like your new idea too. I think the vanity and even the wall will have more of a wow factor now because they will bring more contrast to the room. Re: Tile colours for bathroom walls 7Mar 15, 2009 10:27 am No problem. And thanks for the positive feedback.
Actually, here is a better idea of what I'm trying to achieve in our bathroom. http://www.pazotti.com.au/ - Go to gallery - then Click on 4th pic (the blue one) - then click on 'next' - then click on 2nd last picture (the one with the chocolate wall) Possibly both depending on the sizing. Idea of working from the centre is that you dont have a 20mm thin tile at one end and a 400mm at the other end.
