The range is endless. Fixed, adjustable on a rail, or a handshower attached to wall without a rail. Brands - hansgrohe, methven, other I'd like to know what you style and brand have chosen/installed. What do you love about it or hate it and wished you'd picked something else! As always - I look forward to your thoughts/comments Re: Shower heads - What have you got/decided on and why 2Feb 26, 2009 7:54 am I am going for the posh brand ones from reece, along with a mixer tap.
The rail type one. I picked this so that I can take it off to make it easier to spray the shower when cleaning and also if we have grandkids we can lower it for them to make life a bit easier. Plus they look good Cant tell you how I feel about them yet as I havnt finished building so havnt used them yet. Hope I made the right desision Know where your going in life............... you may already be there Re: Shower heads - What have you got/decided on and why 3Feb 26, 2009 8:02 am We are using Irwell Pin Shower Mixer & Shower Rail
Only brand through the builder but one of my friends have it and said ok. Personally I like shower rail more than a fixed showerhead Blog - http://clageonewhouse.blogspot.com/ Building Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=10886&hilit=milan I am in, with my husband and my beautiful bunny Re: Shower heads - What have you got/decided on and why 4Feb 26, 2009 8:10 am I'm getting the rail type one by default in my ensuite as part of PD's package and im upgrading the main bathroom to it as well - it will make cleaning the shower so much easier! If, by any chance, the rail head was horrible (I like strong showers to rinse my hair in little amount of time), then I would be stuck with 3 holes in my shower I'd have to repair if I needed to change it.
I went for just a plain standard single fixed one instead, so I have the option of changing it to a different one if need be. I also was given a credit too! The slide rail thingy was also a bit too modern for what I have planned for the house, same with the flick mixes...got rid of them too, and will have 2 taps! Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I absolutely love them. I think they may have been part of the promotion with PD at the time.
I've never found cleaning the shower so easy and it's fantastic for rinsing off my 4yo shampoo! Like Stormy I love good water pressure, we have tonnes of it. We've found that we don't actually have to turn the taps on very far to get good pressure. I don't really know if that is due to the shower head or the plumbing but I'm happy. I can't wait. I am going to run away from the rest of the family and just get away from it all!!! Re: Shower heads - What have you got/decided on and why 10Apr 01, 2009 11:01 am Does anyone have any reservations getting a handheld shower in a 'kids' bathroom? We were worried about them either playing with the 'cord' or just fooling around with it. Any comments? When it comes to what we've probably decided, we are getting a Piccolo Flowline handheld shower and a Novelli Mondo No. 6 shower and arm in our ensuite double shower. We are tossing up between a nice but cheap handheld shower in the 'kids' bathroom and another idea that we had which was to simply take our old showerhead down to the exchange and get a brand new one to instal in the new home. I know, *******, but hey, its an idea and will save buying a new one! ICK So glad the building is over, never again. Loooove our house, but still not quite sure it was worth all of the stress they put us through! We were worried about them either playing with the 'cord' or just fooling around with it. Any comments? ICK, we have the handheld shower that I posted above in both our bathrooms. My youngest are 4 and 6 and we haven't had any problems at all. I guess it all comes down to telling the kids about it in the first place (it's not a toy). My 4yo is a boy and has to be told a few times before it sinks in But he's very rarely in the shower/bathroom alone anyway. My 6yo DD loves to clean to shower down with the handheld when she's finished. Re: Shower heads - What have you got/decided on and why 14Apr 01, 2009 12:21 pm i went for a 3 function on hose + rail. Rail because females always want to have a lower shower head but while i am not tall at 5'11" i like to have the shower head a fair bit above me. The 3 in one is good, it has saturate which is great for normal showers you don't even notice you are using a water saving head, focus which is really handy for washing hair and massage which so far ever girl ever to wander through the house has commented on something about a massage shower head with a hose, i don't know i didn't get the reference being so innocent. Re: Shower heads - What have you got/decided on and why 15Apr 01, 2009 3:28 pm We will have the same as House-To-Be in both showers. But in the ensuite shower there will also be a big rainhead from the ceiling. We wanted the rainhead and it's part of the promo. The extra rail one is a bit of future proofing in case mum ever needs to sit while in the shower and use the rail one. As for kids being irresponsible with the rail. They're kids, they'll play with it. By the time they're old enough to be left to shower on their own their probably old enough to be sensible with it though. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Me too joles, hubby wanted the rainhead cause he likes to get his whole head under every time and of coure I had to have a rail so I don't get any hairs wet if I don't want to. In DS's he gets a rail only with massager for his tired concretor limbs. If he winges about it he can leave home. Re: Shower heads - What have you got/decided on and why 17Apr 01, 2009 4:15 pm Hi guys, with regard to the Irwell Invigra, do you know the RRP and whether they sell it at Tradelink (can't find it on website but half the stuff isn't on their site)?? It does look v nice.... You all may be convincing me to get a handheld in the kids bathroom too, I swear this forum is sending me broke! ICK So glad the building is over, never again. Re: Shower heads - What have you got/decided on and why 18Apr 01, 2009 8:48 pm I personally hate the rail ones as the shower head always twists around. We're putting a handheld-on-rail one in my Mum's bathroom for her ease of use, but the other showers are normal. Later on I'll probably change the others to a Greens one that is in Mum's current house. I'm not sure if it's water-saving or not, but I love the pressure. I have very curly hair and I need good pressure to rinse conditioner out. (Current rental has gravity-fed hot water, which sucks. I wash my hair at Mum's.) Judie Re: Shower heads - What have you got/decided on and why 19Apr 01, 2009 8:51 pm We are having the handheld ones on the rail, have got them now and never had a problem. Also having mixer taps so the water can be shut off at times like when shampooing hair, shaving legs etc. Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. I have got the same as wakeboardandy, but i can't remember what they're called. WBA come and advise please. They are not hand held (I also don't like the twist-around-ness Judie) and they have good pressure and I like them.
