Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Feb 22, 2007 8:19 pm It's been a busy week, and as well as trying to get some work done on the bathroom (I'm tired of the camp shower in the fernery ) I've been incredibly busy with work.
Last weekend, we installed the new shower base; layed it on a bed of cement. Since then I've finished laying the new floor. In the process, I put a couple of extra concrete stumps in. It might have been a bit of overkill, but it stops problems later on with cracked tiles etc due to the joists bowing. They shouldn't, but while I had the floor up, it wasn't much trouble to put the stumps in where most people will be walking. The cement sheet was laid on the floor after the membrane was painted on. All the walls have now been panelled, and the vanity is in place. I've started fixing wall tiles now, and thanks to some suggestions from Michelle, I chose fairly large ones. They are easier to fix, there is less cutting, and obviously less grouting later on. I'll be calling in the splashback/shower screen people on Monday, to measure everything up, and it's then just a case of waiting until it's made and installed.. The latest pics are up. www.flickr.com/photos/clancy_n If all you can see are obstacles, you have lost sight of the goals Re: Bathroom Reno Continued. 2Feb 22, 2007 8:33 pm Wow, what a difference!

Very nice Neil!!!! Thanks Michelle. It is going along quite well, if a bit slow. The crook thumb has been slowing me down, but now the shower base is in, it will go a bit quicker. The larger tiles were a great suggestion, so THANK YOU By the way….which race car is yours??? None of them unfortunately My racing days are over, except for helping my son. The pics are from a day we had at the track. A friend runs a race school, and also holds ride days for the public. My son and his partner arranged a drive day for her mother so I just went for a bit of support. That’s one of my dreams, to be a part of the celebrity race team at the Grand Prix. Nothing like a V8 under you…..mmmmm I get goose bumps thinking about it!!! I'm not sure what they paid for the day. They gave it to her for her birthday, and I think it was a couple of hundred or thereabouts. For that they get four laps around the track, a certificate, lunch etc. I know what you mean about v8s. I'm a bit keen on the feeling myself and sometimes get a chance to get back behind the wheel at historic meetings etc. I'm afraid it's all got a bit expensive these days though. I must admit to enjoying being back on a big bike now. If all you can see are obstacles, you have lost sight of the goals Re: Bathroom Reno Continued. 6Feb 22, 2007 8:51 pm Hey Neil,

I've always preferred the wagon to the sedan too. If ever you want to get it going a bit quicker, bring it down here and we'll put some little additions on it And don't worry about speeding fines...just give the nice policeman a big smile If all you can see are obstacles, you have lost sight of the goals Re: Bathroom Reno Continued. 8Feb 22, 2007 8:57 pm My partner and I are thinking of doing a day in Sydney.

Hey...Go for it.. best fun you can have with your clothes on I know how he feels I just got back on a bike after twenty years away. I'd forgotten how good it is. Though sports bikes are a thing of the past for me. I'm just going to go touring...a little bit of "off the beaten track" stuff....camping etc. If all you can see are obstacles, you have lost sight of the goals Re: Bathroom Reno Continued. 10Feb 22, 2007 9:15 pm CAMPING? With a bike??
I’d need a sidecar to that!!! And a trailer!!! I’d need a sidecar to that!!! And a trailer!!! I'm sorry...but I have to say it......typical woman. With side bags, a swag, one bag of clothes etc, I can stay away for a week. I don't need a hair dryer, duna, or makeup. and if you can't cook a whole meal in one pot, you're eating too much If all you can see are obstacles, you have lost sight of the goals Re: Bathroom Reno Continued. 12Feb 22, 2007 9:31 pm I know what you’re saying!!!
In a former life with my ex hubby, we used to take our ski boat away for 3 days every Anzac long weekend up our wonderful Shoalhaven River, with a few other people and their boats. I was the most likely to be lost with out all the comforts of home to start with, so they all thought! But I ended up being the biggest SLOB out of everyone, so you just never know…. do you???
