Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jan 24, 2009 1:05 pm Hi Guys,
I am not sure I am going to like the answers to this, but here goes... We have signed contracts etc and are just about to build, so NO changes allowed. We were wondering what it would cost to put a second shower head into our ensuite shower after the house is built? We are both kicking ourselves for not putting it in earlier...(We didnt know it was possible!) Thanks, Ryan Building Vancouver 33 - My Thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89689 Re: Shower question 3Jan 24, 2009 1:15 pm Thanks Ecoclassic,
Was just wondering if that was OK?!?! I think it says in our contract that we specifically CANT ask people to do work while they are constructing etc. Is that normal? Nothing, my guess - they just don't want to lose revenue. I wired my whole anatenna ssystem after hours with no complaints (except from my wife who was on my shoulders most of the time)...
If it bothers you just ask for the pipe put into the wall - so easy to install after that. Re: Shower question 5Jan 24, 2009 1:22 pm Ok cool. Will see what I can do. Nothing to lose I suppose...
Thanks for your advice mate. Building Vancouver 33 - My Thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89689 Re: Shower question 6Jan 24, 2009 3:19 pm I;m afraid it might cost you more than a slab or two.
If you want two shower heads, (Im guessing that you want two controls, right? Like, on one side of the shower you want a handset and on the other side another handset each to their own shower head ) If so, you'd be looking at two (instead of one), shower breeches, ($40)fittings to connect the extra one, ($20) handles shower arms ($80 up depending on quality), plus the cost of an hour and a half's labour. ($120) In a brick veneer house about $250 to $300. Using flickmixer instead of taps, add another $100. (depending on quality of f/mixer) I'll look into different shower heads and ask the plumber about some engineering and see what he says.
