Just wondering where people put their shampoos and body wash in the shower? Has anyone ever used a dispenser something like these? http://www.thedispenser.com.au/home-dispensers.html Also I was looking through Kmart today and they had a dispenser you screw into the wall near your vanity basin for the liquid soap, which I thought was a good idea. Has anyone done this as well? Thanks Kristy Re: Shower and Vanity Basin Dispensers 2Jan 09, 2009 2:23 pm My gym has those .
I like the idea in concept but I change Shampoos, Conditioners and bodywashes too much and have about 2 of each on the go for me to every think it worth filling up another dispenser. It would be particularly good for kids though and it looks smart and tidy. I use a Mega Caddy thing that I got from Howards Storage World thats dishwasher safe . Not sure what I'm going to do for my new place, probably a new Mega Shower Caddy. I love the ability of having the choice of lots of shower products and a caddy that holds a lot thats easy to clean wins for me. The recessed wall bits are nice but showers are already horrid to clean and mine would need to be the size of a nightclub bar to accomadate all my stuff. Blog: http://thereluctantbuilder.blogspot.com/ Re: Shower and Vanity Basin Dispensers 3Jan 09, 2009 2:45 pm Yes we have those dispensers in the bathrooms at work and shampoo, conditioner, bodywash gets filled into them from large bottles.
Im with Ozkarnak re home use though, not sure how suitable they are at home, especially if different bathroom users have their own products, I remember when my daughter livd at home and used fancy shampoos for blonde/coloured/ straightened hair while rest of us used run of the mill supermarket products and sometimes I use little tubes of conditioner etc. Good if you buy large bottles in bulk, I guess. But we just have those basic plastic or steel hang over the shower head caddies that you buy from hardware shop, they're cheap and easy, when they rust or crack after few years, we just replace them. Re: Shower and Vanity Basin Dispensers 4Jan 09, 2009 2:52 pm You can get some really nice shower shelves, in glass or stainless steel that are designed for holding bottles of shower products. Bunnings has some (although nothing that I like, I'm fussy ), but there's a large range here:
http://www.reece.com.au/bathrooms/products/accessories There are also soap dishes and liquid soap dispensers that can be wall-mounted. I'm trying to convince my husband to shell out around $200 each for the shower shelves I want. I'll wear him down.... Re: Shower and Vanity Basin Dispensers 5Jan 09, 2009 3:01 pm There are a lot of nice glass shelves on that website Kek. How do you find out how much the shelves are?
Thanks Kristy Re: Shower and Vanity Basin Dispensers 6Jan 10, 2009 6:11 am Reece showrooms have some on display, with prices marked. Best to talk to the sales people though, because there are lots of others not on display - they'll have all the brochures and can look up the prices for you.
Find the ones you like, note down the brand and model and then ring around bathroom supply places for the best price. The ones I like are in the $200 neighbourhood... I found some for around $60-70, though and Bunnings had some even cheaper ones.Or check Grays Online, or eBay - sometimes they have bathroom accessories Re: Shower and Vanity Basin Dispensers 7Jan 10, 2009 7:03 am We have them from Bunnings - they are fantastic... and you use much less shampoo and stuff so no waste. I used them in a 5 star hotel once and that won me over...
They never break, unless you drop them when you refill - and we have dropped 2 - but bought new ones as we love them. The one on the website is ours - Ulti-mate & classic. Ultimate is a waste of a mirror as it gets wet. so stick to classic. Ed Re: Shower and Vanity Basin Dispensers 8Jan 11, 2009 9:08 pm Thanks All, I will look into either a glass shower or the dispensers. Both seem really good. Just depends on the look I decide on for the bathroom. Re: Shower and Vanity Basin Dispensers 9Jan 11, 2009 11:32 pm EcoClassic I used them in a 5 star hotel once and that won me over... That's funny because I used them once in a 3-star Sydney hotel and I thought to myself "I know I've hit the rock-bottom in hotels when they can't even give you a bar of soap". Luckily I brought my own toiletries since there's no way I was going to coat myself in unidentified gloop. Also, anyone here been on the factory floor of heavy industry ? Guess what they have in there toilet blocks: industrial-sized dispensers of unidentified coloured gloop. And that's what dispensers are to me: industrial. Cheap bulk product. But that's just me and my old factory associations ! It's hard to forget years of pushing dispensers in an all-metal bathroom Do the hard jobs first. Do you think little bars of poop in hotel dressing are high quality??? They look pretty... Re: Shower and Vanity Basin Dispensers 11Jan 12, 2009 7:14 am Oh... they also save water - less time to dispense than a bottle and cap and never excess dispensed that you need to wash off... and you can do it with your eyes closed... bars of soap - dated - like the sliderule...
Yes I used these things at school 40 odd years ago - when the older boys told us it was hair stuff... I had another look at their website and they also have liquid soap dispensers for the basin in a silver solour, which look fantastic. I think I would also like a corner glass shelf and a chrome dispnser for shampoos and stuff. Does anyone know if I went chrome if it would go discoloured with the water in the shower? Would I be better off sticking with the plastic white colour? Thank you guys and gals. You are all fantastic!
