This is as far as we have gotten. Due to the Humbug Season we cannot continue until the weekend of 12 Dec when we will be gutting the bathroom. DW went off the shops with SIL and so this is where the photo's end. I will take some more of the actual door in and post them up tomorrow. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. Re: Renovations have begun - well just! 7Nov 26, 2008 10:36 am Yeah, We have everything except the vanity. However DW continues to change her mind about where she wants to tile up to. First it was just up to shower rose, then all the way to ceiling then all around the entire bathroom. I am going to make an executive decision and she will have to just deal with it. Re: Renovations have begun - well just! 9Nov 28, 2008 10:25 am Yeah I agree, but I dont want my small bathroom to look even smaller with the tiles. Might have to look at getting bigger one If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. There's no use being a damn fool about it. W.C. Fields Brought Established. Re: Renovations have begun - well just! 10Dec 11, 2008 9:36 am Well this weekend is it. The sparky is coming in tonight to pull out the old IXL and disconnect some powerpoints and so forth so I can pull the lami panelling out. Then the plumber is coming tomorrow morning to install the mixer/diverter taps and take out the old bath taps and then its renovation time. I will take heaps of photos and post them next week once its all finished and looking spesh. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. There's no use being a damn fool about it. W.C. Great seeing your progressive photos... hopefully next year we will be fixing our bathroom... I bet having that sliding door will save you some space! First time home owner and first time renovator... Re: Renovations have begun - well just! 13Dec 17, 2008 8:38 am Gives us heaps of floorspace. I have the walls and ceiling up and the new bath in. We had to wait for the plumber to come back to hook it all up which happened last night. So tonight we can start laying tiles and then get the vanity in. Sooooo much more work than we thought and the plumber cost me a fortune, wasn't expecting the cost to be so high. I wil have photo's as soon as it is all done it will be better that way.
Hope to have it all done by the weekend. Fingers crossed. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. There's no use being a damn fool about it. W.C. Fields Brought Established. Re: Renovations have begun - well just! 14Dec 30, 2008 8:20 am Just thought I would update. Well things have taken wayyyyy longer than I had invisaged. we built the frame for the bath and set it in but we forgot to allow space for the AC sheeting and then the tiles to sit flush with the bath side. So we had to pull out the bath and rebuild the frame to allow for the space. This resulted in the peat trap coming away from the pipes so we had to get the plumber back to fix that up. we tiled and grouted the floor and the side of the bath. We started to do the wall around the bath when we found out we had a leak in one of the pipes. So had to get the plumber back to fix it. He came yesterday so now NY day we will finish the tiling and grouting and then we can put the vanity in finish the plastering, paint and install the shower screen and walaa we are done.
I have plenty of pictures which I will post as soon as I am finished. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. There's no use being a damn fool about it. W.C. It's possible but a soak well is usually much larger. Your 'soak well' only holds 424 litres when full. What is your soil type?
