Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jun 08, 2008 1:43 pm We were looking at the options for our bathroom and the choices were between a shower head on an adjustable rail and what hey called a 'dumper' (I've googled and it seems the standard name is a 'rain' or 'downpour') shower head.
Much like this one: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Does anyone have one or used one of these? Are they any good? I think they look fantastic but normally looks and weather they are any good are entirely different things altogether. Re: Dumper/Rain Shower head, how effective? 3Jun 08, 2008 2:51 pm I bought one which is supposed to be a Brewers Moonson, or Hurricane or somethin' looks like that, WELS 3 star rated, apparently a luxurious showering experience.
http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff2/mikeb1968/SHowerhead.jpg Still took twice as long to have a shower, piece of cr*p. Between you and me let's just say I worked out how easily the shower head can be dismantled and it has since been modded. It's great now...... mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: Dumper/Rain Shower head, how effective? 4Jun 08, 2008 3:23 pm To everybody who is moving from an old-fashioned (ie. non-water efficient) shower heads to newer ones - it takes a while to get used to them as obviously, to be water-efficient, not as much water comes out. Re: Dumper/Rain Shower head, how effective? 6Jun 08, 2008 4:08 pm Friends of mine recently did up their bathrom and installed normal shower head, as well as a rainshower head - they reckon the rainshower is divine as a luxury shower time - but it;s not used for everyday use. Re: Dumper/Rain Shower head, how effective? 7Jun 09, 2008 1:32 pm Personally, I don't like them. I prefer more water pressure. Happy at Home Re: Dumper/Rain Shower head, how effective? 8Jun 09, 2008 1:45 pm Yeah thats the kicker, im the same, after a hard days yacca I love turning the cold water down and letting the hot water bore a hole in a sore lower back. I suppose for those days I could just just the second bathroom with the standard shower head ... mm may have to see wht the chances of both are, but may look a little unsightly Re: Dumper/Rain Shower head, how effective? 9Jun 09, 2008 1:48 pm bec be aware some women dont like them cos their hair can always gets wet (or thats the feedback I got from someone else...not me) Yeah that's what I don't think I'd like about them - can see myself putting my neck out trying not to get hair wet on days I'm not washing it. (Which with a newborn in the house, let's face it, is quite often these days ) Re: Dumper/Rain Shower head, how effective? 10Jun 09, 2008 1:53 pm donuts .......days I'm not washing it. Hubby's one and only thing he "insisted" on in the entire house. He loves it. Me well - high pressure does wash the hair better but it feels really nice... makes for long showers.
