I would like an open shower like this Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ However I don't want to spend alot of money having the tiled shower floor. In your opinion would a fibreglass shower recess look totally cr@p or do you think it would look okay? If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. We went to a holiday house with a shower like this, and as fancy as it all looked...ir really didnt work well at all...water just went everywhere, and wet eveyrthing...we ended up having to put towels on the edge, to stop the water from going everywhere... having said that...maybe a fibreglass shower recess would stop water from going everywhere unlike tiles...but dont know how well that would flow... Re: walk in shower 3Oct 31, 2008 2:42 pm For me.... the whole point of having the screen like this is for a seamless look. To have anything other than tiles on the floor of the shower sort of defeats the purpose to me...
Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: walk in shower 4Oct 31, 2008 2:52 pm It might look good if the rest of your tiles were white, then it may not be as noticeable that there is a lip. Otherwise you may not get the look you are after. Maybe try and find an image of what it would look like so you are a 100% sure. Re: walk in shower 5Nov 03, 2008 9:35 am Thanks guys, it turns out I don't have enough room in my bathroom for a shower at all Just have to stick to the old shower over bath If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. But I too was looking at getting this shower screen for the house we have just purchased.
It's a very small bathroom that currently has "shower over bath" that I absolutely HATE! The measurements are 1600 x 2400. 1600 is where the bath is with a window over it. New vanity will go where existing one is, so plumbing shouldn't be a problem. I will try to attach a pic so you can see what I mean. I hope you can give me some ideas as what to do with this small space? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ If you choke a smurf... what colour do they turn? Re: walk in shower 8Nov 18, 2008 7:05 pm I have just drawn up a very rough plan for you... Hope it gives you a better idea of the area I have to work with.
We will be removing all the old tiles and rails ect. Going to be very minimalist. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ If you choke a smurf... what colour do they turn? Re: walk in shower 9Nov 19, 2008 8:37 am Hi are you keeping the bath? As I mentioned I had no room to keep the bath and put in a shower so I got a Shower Screen that sits on the bath like this.

Shower is already there, it's just over the old bath tub. We will remove the bath and tile where it was and use the old waste from the tub as the new waste for the shower. I just put the old bath in the drawing so you could see where it was in relation to the shower head. I have done another bit of a plan on the computer, will scan that and upload too. Re: walk in shower 12Nov 19, 2008 9:25 am Okay, Well if you do a google search for frameless shower screens there is a sydney company that sell them cheaply. Re: walk in shower 13Nov 19, 2008 9:45 am I have seen a few on EBay at reasonable prices, but the transport is a bit of a worry...
I will ask around Bundy on the weekend and see if there are any plumbing suppliers who might have then and save on he transport... Maybe. This is what I would like Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ If you choke a smurf... what colour do they turn? Re: walk in shower 14Nov 19, 2008 9:56 am My Showerscreen only cost me $69.00 to be posted via courier from Sydney to melbourne, then from Melbourne to shepparton (Country Victoria). That I thought was very reasonable. It was $100.00 cheaper than buying it from a plumbing store (that includes the postage.) If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. Re: walk in shower 15Nov 19, 2008 10:09 am Can I ask what is the name of the company you purchsed from, I just looked at the delivery for the one I want on EBay and it's $165 delivery!
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 0274500986 EDIT: I just emailed that company and the girl rang be beck straight away! $359.95 for the screen and $165 delivery by TNT. Total $524.95... is that a good price?? If you choke a smurf... what colour do they turn? Re: walk in shower 16Nov 19, 2008 10:51 am I purchase mine from Renovation Boys off ebay, it was cheaper than their website. Their service was excellent.
Try here their prices are pretty reasonable but not sure of courier costs. http://www.fastat.com.au/ If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. I have won on Ebay one of these. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-DELREY-1000- ... 240%3A1318 I hope this will save my problem with the window... IF it darkens the room too much I guess I can always put in a sky light... Has anyone here ever used one of these, apparently they sell retail for about $1100. Will keep you posted on how it all goes in a few weeks. If you choke a smurf... what colour do they turn? Re: walk in shower 19Dec 11, 2008 11:57 pm Re: walk in shower 20Dec 12, 2008 1:01 am I love the idea of those walk-in showers, and they always look great on plans and in displays. But I hate using them. They're just not cosy enough for me. I find the walk-ins cold and uncomfortable to use, and a lot messier in terms of water splashed about. Do the hard jobs first.
