Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jan 20, 2007 9:22 pm The company doing renovation for us has just put wrong tiles onto our bathroom (It's different from specified in the contract). I don't want them to re-work because it will take another 2-3 months. I'm seeking for a compensation. Does anyone know what's a reasonable amount of compensation? eg. 30% discount, 50% discount, etc. Any past cases?
Thank you for any help. Re: Wrong tiles put in our bathroom by renovator. Compensation? 2Jan 22, 2007 12:10 pm Do you have a separate price for the supply and installation of the tiles?
If you insist in having the correct tiles, it would cost the builder more than this as he has to remove the old tiles and repair damage. I would say that a 30-50% discount would be reasonable. The builder is getting off lightly. It will depend on your negotiating skills. If the builder is not prepared to pay any compensation, what is your minimum fall back position. Would you prefer to live with the existing tiles with no compensation or prefer to have the mess of the job being re-done in 3 months?
