Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 May 01, 2024 12:20 am Hi there, Looking for any advice or feedback on what is a recommended size for double showers? It's a normal glass shower with a door (not a walk in) and there will be 2 shower heads with mixers at the middle (where the door is). Currently it's 900 x 2000 (which I think is okay) but I'm thinking of increasing it slightly to 1000 x 2200 but I'm wondering if that's excessive? Does anyone have something that is 900mm wide that thinks they could use an additional 10cm? Or does anyone have a double shower that is 2m long but thinks they are to 'close' to the other person and that 2.2m would be helpful? I guess the 'cost' in this is I lost a bit of space around the rest of the bathroom (not that big a deal though?) And you think every shower you have will be with another person. I would rather the toilet be closed. Who wants to see someone taking a dump whilst showering. Also the smell.. If that's the case, just wait the 15 mins, make the shower a single. Re: Should I increase the double shower size from 2.0m x 0.9 4Jun 04, 2024 9:00 pm We planned a similar shower and ended up with a simple single shower with one glass panel walk into the shower at the end, much easier, dries completely between showers and great for showering dirty kids, can’t see the reason to have a double shower, I enjoy the time alone, so does my wife. Washing your bits is best done alone too.. Re: Should I increase the double shower size from 2.0m x 0.9 5Jun 15, 2024 11:06 pm I've got a similar setup with a double shower at 900 x 2000, and it works fine for us. I think your idea of going slightly bigger to 1000 x 2200 sounds reasonable if you want a bit more elbow room. From what I've seen, the extra 10cm in width and 20cm in height shouldn't feel excessive, especially if you're concerned about feeling too cramped with two people in there. Building Standards; Getting It Right! Long story short, a toilet room is going to back onto our main bedroom and I want to make it close to soundproof. But I guess it's harder to tell the cost/benefit in your example - mainly the 'cost'? If you go 700mm, what are you doing extra… 2 11548 |
