A manufacturer said it was ok but should still check with electrician. If its switched on and gets a few splashes of water is it safe? Also with ip55 rating is it safe if water sprays on it from the handheld shower? Such as when cleaning and washing down the tiles. Re: Heated vertical towel rail at the end of a walk-in showe 2Mar 20, 2024 7:56 pm yes you can install there but I would make sure the supply is hardwired via the brackets to a GPO in the other room on the other side of the wall. You can use an extra switch GPO and a wiser mech from Clipsal or something from Sonoff which is controlled with your phone. Re: Heated vertical towel rail at the end of a walk-in showe 3Mar 21, 2024 4:05 pm Electrical just got back to me and said the most they can provide is a single power point on the Bedroom 1 side of that wall. After handover, your towel rail installer will need to bring the wiring into the correct position for your heated towel rail. Please note that installing a towel rail in this way will damage the waterproofing in the wall, which you be your responsibility to repair. Im presuming would just have to make sure its a water proof seal around the rail mounting points? Filling the screw points with silicone?
