We've had this door/hooks combo for over a year now and I've already fixed it twice, see pics.
I'm looking for a more permanent solution (that hopefully doesn't include changing the door!) to secure hanging hooks to the bathroom door. I'm open to change the hooks.
Do you guys have any first hand experience in fixing something very similar?
Door: somewhat cardboard-y, not much meat for the screws to bite into
I've tried to lower the hangers of about 10mm, use PVA glue to secure the back to the door surface and screw (10mm approx. length) them back.
While I appreciate the suggestions/tips you'll send my way, please avoid "have you tried xxxx?" if you haven't done it yourself in a similar context. It's a waste of everyone's time

Thanks in advance
