Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Oct 24, 2008 10:00 pm Hi all,
I have found out what my vanity flick mixers are going to look like. They are ok, but I would really like something a bit nicer. I am getting this: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ But I would really love something like this: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ or even this Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Builder said I could buy something myself and drop it off for the plumber to install instead of the standard ones. I had a look at reece today and something like the first one that I like was $197 each, on sale. I haven't had a look at Bunnings today but think that will be my next stop, but there was nothing cheaper in their online catalogue. Anyone know where I can get one, a bit cheaper? (well 2 actually) thanks in advance! Re: Nice looking but cheap flick mixer for vanity? 5Oct 24, 2008 10:29 pm donuts It's weird isn't it vanderlay? Thanks for that site Missy! I'll have a look at it tomorrow, I'm all worn out from re-sizing my avatar right now Yep!! Close up donuts!!! Nice sprinkles..... Built Porter Davis "Dromana" 2007. Re: Nice looking but cheap flick mixer for vanity? 8Oct 25, 2008 9:01 am Those are pretty good prices for mixers.
I bought a cheapie from bunnings and it has only lasted 2 years. just remember a tap could be there for 100 years and over that time $170 is well spent. I had asked PD to put in the pin mixer like in the 2nd photo as we are having them in our ensuite and powder room. Somehow this didn't happen. Anyway the pin mixer in Bunnings is about $168. I've decided not to worry about it at this stage, kids won't notice
There were alot of ebay a month or so ago too. Happy at Home Re: Nice looking but cheap flick mixer for vanity? 10Oct 25, 2008 9:27 am Donuts , this company posts to anywhere in Oz :

You are all such a wealth of good information, this is going to save me heaps of money.
wakeboardandy, that is a good price for your upgrades. Unfortunately I forgot to upgrade mine so that is where I'm stuck - instead of paying the upgrade price I have to buy whole new taps - also being a pleb I don't get any builder's/bulk discount H2B - are you getting one in your powder room too? I just realised I actually need 3 not 2 (forgot about double vanity in ensuite) - so to save costs I might only put a nice one in the kids' bathroom as that is the only one guests will see... So far the cheapest one I can see is on the grays online auction (thanks YSSIM ), there is a nice one there that currently has a bid of $49, so will have to see how much it goes for. Southies - thanks for the links to those ebay stores - the next cheapest one is on there @ $99. Might be a goer if the auction ones don't work out Bam - thanks for your link also there are a few gooseneck ones on there which I'll keep in mind but will see how I go with the pin ones first (think that is what they are called?) as I do like those ones best! Re: Nice looking but cheap flick mixer for vanity? 16Oct 26, 2008 11:41 pm just be careful with grays, keep in mind the 15% 'buyers premium' they charge as well as they usually overpriced shipping fee. they often overquote the RRP,, $1100 rrp for a mixer tap seems a bit rich. Re: Nice looking but cheap flick mixer for vanity? 17Oct 27, 2008 6:36 am Hi Donuts, I like your idea of just putting one in the kids bathroom. You are right as no-one will see/use your ensuite (unless you want to show off your tiles )
This is what the kids bathroom will have (first pic), round bowl and hopefully a tap like this although from the other blogs the tap looks more like what you posted in the first pic. Our Ensuite and powder room are having the above counter round "salad bowl" type basins and the extended pin mixer taps as in the 2nd pic. You can see the basins on my blog as they went in last week, taps aren't in yet. Good luck. I've bought stuff from both these places. Have used the 'lollipop' range for shower, bath, laundry and basins. http://www.renovationd.com.au/index.php ... ucts_id=56 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Lollypop-Bathroo ... 911.c0.m14 Re: Nice looking but cheap flick mixer for vanity? 19Oct 27, 2008 12:13 pm thanks for the tip re grays piranha. sounds **
