Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Feb 07, 2022 10:49 pm Hey, I have developed a leak in my En suite and narrowed it down to the tiled wall/floor in the shower. It seems the waterproofing has failed and water is soaking through into the wall cavity and the carpet on the other side. The house is ~ 25 years old, and the ensuite is the only room that has not been renovated. But this is really not a good time for me to replace the bathroom. How successful is a solution like shower plug? https://www.cpcproducts.com.au/shower-plug/ Am i able to paint the tiles at the same time and seal over it? Or is there a white sealant i can use to cover up 90s pink tiles. Is it going to buy me another 12 - 24 months? I don't want to lay in bed at night wondering if my wall cavity is full of water . Thanks, Re: Leaking shower tiles - Reseal & Repaint? 2Feb 08, 2022 9:03 am SwaggyB Hey, I have developed a leak in my En suite and narrowed it down to the tiled wall/floor in the shower. Thanks, the waterproofing has failed. Any topical treatment you use will be largley innefective over an extended period. Then there is the matter of the damp and damage caused by the leak so far which probably has to be dealt with too. It might not be a good time for you now, but its never a good time and will get progressively more expensive and less of a good time as it progresses. Re: Leaking shower tiles - Reseal & Repaint? 3Apr 19, 2022 8:38 pm Well i ended up with a product called 'Remedial membrane' If its installed by their installers they guarantee it for 5 years.. I installed it myself about 8 weeks ago, so far so good.. We will see how well this post ages. Your house roof does not show rusting other than some surface rust on the flashings. In my opinion you dont need to replace or paint the roof other than treat surface rust… 1 10232 DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Hi, I've got a brand new (2nd hand) Bosch Hydropower 16H tankless hot water heater. Since it was installed I have noticed it leaks a lot. I took the cover off and it looks… 0 24148 I'll look into different shower heads and ask the plumber about some engineering and see what he says.
