Hi all,
My 900m2 block in Encounter Bay does not have a sewer main connection point. SA Water had just quoted a 23k construction cost for extend 38m exisiting sewer main to my block. That includes allowance of 5k of rock breaking and could be refundable if it’s not used.
Definitely a cost I haven’t prepared for. Need to admit it’s my mistake that I didn’t do a thorough search prior to purchase. My conveyancer did not highlight this to me though.
My builder suggests me to install a septic tank at around 9-10k as an alternative. I should have plenty of room at the backyard for installation.
What’s is disadvantage on having a septic tank? I’m potentially will lease it as holiday rental, so I had little control to the type of waste that people flush into the tank.
Also how much depth of excavation is required for a domestic household size tank? I’m not too familiar with this item. What happened if it reaches full capacity?
