Looking for an opinion on the necessity of the laundry in the proposed granny flat.
This is the floor plan of an attached granny flat proposed for my project. The total area of the granny is approx 46m2. At the moment, friend's opinion is that there is no storage space (apart from the wardrobe).
So we are considering moving the tapware to washing machine into the bathroom, next to the vanity and get rid of the laundry tub in total. That "laundry" space becomes just open space and therefore provides flexibility to either install shelving or a study desk.
Is that a good idea? Or does that space becomes dead space? Currently on the plan, there isn't even a door provided to the laundry space. So I will need to ask builder to include bi-folding door if keeping it as laundry or for shelving.

Where is the flat? Will the user have access to a main laundry? How is it going to be used? Is the weather suitable for drying? Is there outdoor space?
Two ideas- incorporate a washer into the kitchen or
stack a washer and dryer in beside the stairs with a door?
