1. Remove insinkerator unit and discard (there is a double sink, but it’s only on one side) 2. Remove existing double sink (incl. dishwasher pipes) 3. Refit new sink (supplied by me) that is the same size as the old one, reconnect dishwasher pipes, and seal around sink 4. Remove old partly deteriorated seals around bathroom and ensuite basins (small porcelain basins) and re-seal 5. Remove old partly deteriorated seals around bathroom and ensuite shower / bath and re-seal (not a lot of seal to be done) 6. Fit 2 glass shelves onto tiles in ensuite shower (glass shelves supplied by me) 7. Fit 4 new taps (hot/cold and water faucet thing, etc) in bathroom and 4 in ensuite (shower & vanity in each) (taps etc supplied by me) 8. Fit 2 new plug hole waste things in ensuite (one in shower and one in basin), and 2 in main bathroom (in bath and basin) – existing are fine, but white and cheap looking. I want stainless steel ones put in. (these would need to be supplied by the plumber, as I don’t trust myself to get the right ones) I’ve requested quotes from some plumbers already but while I wait for their replies, does anyone have any ideas about this? Thank you! How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: How much might these plumbing jobs be? 2Oct 07, 2008 9:54 am I’ve got a couple of replies back.
One said it’d be $150 for the removal of the insinkerator but not sure how much replacement of new sink would be (depends if it fits perfectly, etc) and their hourly rate is $75. Another said $568 for both of those things and it’s impossible to quote on the re-sealing at this point. Is this reasonable? The hourly rate of $75 and $150 for removal of insinkerator? Also, I got a quote from a handyman for all the things I wanted done, and they just said their rate is $77 per hour plus materials. Is this normal for a handyman?? How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing!
