Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 May 05, 2021 1:14 pm Hi all, Just wanted some opinions on the size of my ensuite shower for the home I am about to build. I have gone for a 900x1800 shower (900 wide, 1800 long) with an overhead shower rose and seperate shower rose on the wall for cleaning. Originally they placed the overhead rose in the middle of the shower but I have asked to move it to the back towards the other shower head on the wall. This got me thinking about the width, is the shower too narrow? I've been thinking of maybe widening it to 1000 or 1100 as I don't want to feel cramped in the shower. One side is tiled and the other will be a glass frame/door. Thanks Re: Shower size to ensuite 2May 05, 2021 1:24 pm kennyc This got me thinking about the width, is the shower too narrow? Ours is 1000mm wide, but unless you were particularly big people, I can't imagine 900mm would be too cramped. Moreover, it would depend on what you would lose outside the shower by shrinking that space by 100mm. I have 2500 from the wall of the shower to the ensuite entry door so widening it won't be an issue. I'm also thinking now to have the rain dumper shower rose to one side and then changing the single function shower rail on the other side to a dual shower rail. That way I'll have a double shower as it's quite long... Re: Shower size to ensuite 4May 06, 2021 1:18 pm Yes, I'd make it at least 1000mm wide. I'm just under 6' and average build but any showers I've been in that were 900mm have felt cramped and I've bumped my elbows on the walls. Stewie Thanks for the suggestion. The space between shower and sinks was too tight. I agree about the toilet location. So I have tried two other options: The lower one is… 3 6138 the step up is 30mm and wanting it to be flat . how much does the concrete have to be lowered .we plan on removing bath and lenghten shower and adding seat. the old bath… 0 11832 |
