I wanted to know; 1. If we need council’s approval for this. 2. Any idea on roughly how much this would cost us 3. Any suggestions on the design are welcome. we are also planning to remove the cupboard from the room and take that extra space in the main bathroom. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ we need to be able to see the adjoining rooms and all windows and doors..can you post a plan of the whole house..you can usually renovate an existing bathroom without council approval as long as the work is done by qualified tradespeople and you'll probabaly need a carpenter, concretor, plumber, electrician, plasterer, waterproofer and tiler although you may decide to do any painting yourself but first check if you need to consider asbestos that could be in walls, floors, ceilings and around pipes..advice available from each state Govt online and there will also be the skilled demolition and lots of rubbish removal and even with careful planning and no delays you should expect the bathroom to be out of commission for weeks if not longer and cost at least $20,000 depending on your choice of tiles, taps, toilet, shower, heating, electrical, drainage and new walls and ceilings and assuming no asbestos or unexpected surprises but the biggest challenge is usually arranging for all the trades to come and go in the correct sequence so unless you already know suitable tradespeople i would suggest that a bathroom company would be the easiest and quotes from several would be a good way to obtain some realistic pricing for what's possible before you make any decisions or start removing old tiles 2 11532 Hey all, Hoping for some inspiration for my bathroom laundry combo.
