The most economical form of heating, in terms of both install costs & ongoing energy costs, is reverse cycle air conditioning.
Hydronic heating, had a very high install cost, but it's regarded too be a very comfortable form of heating (especially for asthma & allergy sufferers).
Hydronic takes two main forms. Underfloor & panel (radiators). Usually underfloor is used for concrete floors, either in-slab, or in-screed (above the slab). But nowadays it's also being used under timber floors. Probably not so efficient in this case, as timber is an insulator.
