Would there be a major difference in bills in winter due to the above 150mm increase in ceiling height? Would there be a major difference in bills in winter due to the above 150mm increase in ceiling height? It’s a calculation you can do, something like this. Once you know the cost per cubic meter, you can work out how many extra cubic meters you are adding by raising the ceiling...but in short, 15m3 per 100m2 of ceiling space. Then you can multiple by the cost of your energy source (probably in kilojoules). Re: Does ceiling height effects heating efficiency &ongoing 3Feb 25, 2020 7:37 am Are you sure you want to install gas ducted heating? Reverse cycle AC is now the cheapest way to heat a home, & gas is only going to get more expensive. Not to mention how bad it is for the environment.
Plenty of people ditching gas altogether. If I was building a new home I wouldn't be installing gas at all, I'd have an all-electric home, the way of the future. Reverse cycle AC to heat/cool the home, heat pump to heat the water, induction cooktop in the kitchen. Solar PV on the roof.
