Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Oct 30, 2020 1:43 pm Hi there, Does anyone have or know about this unit? We built a large double storey home but our builder only installed 1 controller unit downstairs and was told that there is no other controller that can be installed upstairs. This is definitely not ideal and I find this very strange. We have previously requested to have controllers for both floors and was told that for double storey homes it is definitely common to have 2 controllers. Then we got told that wifi is not available via remote controller and additional controller upstairs is not possible for the selected model. Appreciate your inputs. We are stressing right now. Re: York 26kw 3-phase Inverter Reverse Cycle Ducted system 3Oct 30, 2020 2:48 pm SaveH2O Can't you contact Bonaire and ask them? I did contact them immediately after I received an email from our builder but Bonaire was requesting us to provide the model and serial number of the unit which I don't have since we haven't moved in yet. I have asked our builder of these details but I haven't received a response yet. Bonaire said that there are several units so they wanted to know the model and serial number first before they can confirm. Re: York 26kw 3-phase Inverter Reverse Cycle Ducted system 4Oct 30, 2020 2:59 pm The York website seems to indicate that you can get WiFi controllers that can also work on your mobile phone. I would be amazed that you can't at least install a slave controller upstairs. Maybe the builder isn't interested in asking the question or hasn't prewired for a slave controller. Just ring York and see what they recommend. I hope we can get the model and serial number information from our builder so that I can check with Bonaire/York as I no longer trust our builder. We paid almost $25k for this unit so we are very disappointed. If in case they didn't prewire for a slave controller, would it be possible to add later on for a double storey? And would it be possible to add another controller upstairs for an existing unit? Re: York 26kw 3-phase Inverter Reverse Cycle Ducted system 6Oct 30, 2020 3:18 pm I'm not sure about the York controllers but I know in our old house we had wired Daikin controllers. We had one upstairs and one downstairs. I think one was the master and the slave unit piggybacks out of the back of that. That meant that it was all prewired during construction. Our new house uses a third party controller that also has a web-based app controller on the phone. York is the only unit that our builder has and they can't do provision for heating/cooling. Since our build is a double storey, we had to select this brand. I'm still hoping for some good news though, fingers crossed. You just mentioned that your builder can't provide heating and cooling but the title of your thread is reverse cycle which is heating and cooling? Sorry to confuse you. The heating/cooling unit has already been installed but we haven't moved in yet. The issue is the controller as there is only one for the ground floor. Our house is a double storey. There is no controller upstairs which would be a pain to go downstairs especially in the middle of the night to turn on/off the unit or change the temperature. I was hoping for a remote controll but was told that this isn't even available. The top number is the model of indoor unit and the number below is the model of the outdoor unit. It's the only 26kw 3phase unit they have. Ring York/Bonaire with the model and ask if it's possible to run 2 control units with that system.
