Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Sep 02, 2019 8:37 pm I am in need of expertise, apologies if its unconventional. I have found a rental to move into and the agent is convinced it only has ducted heating on the ground floor and ducted aircon on the top floor. Does that make any sense and could it work? Sorry I don't have much more info other than the house is 5 years old 3 beds upstairs. Re: Could aircon on first floor only work for the whole hous 2Sep 05, 2019 10:32 pm The short answer is no it won't work. It is likely air conditioning was only put upstairs as heat rises essentially and the bedrooms upstairs would be unbearable in summer. Re: Could aircon on first floor only work for the whole hous 3Sep 06, 2019 7:08 am I think it would probably work. Aircon with cold air for the summer, cooling upstairs and falling down to the lower floors. Winter, the heat would rise to the upper floor. It would also depend on the size of the unit and insulation within the building frame. Re: Could aircon on first floor only work for the whole hous 4Sep 07, 2019 8:55 pm Air condition will not work like this. If it's located on the first floor it would be comfortable only there.
